This is a perfect video for watching while working out. The rumble of the engine and my heart beating reminds me of my time as a Freight Conductor on CSX! I definitely love the locomotive engine sounds! Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work! 👍

Ive had several people tell me that the cab ride videos make them feel like they are "going somewhere" on their exercise bikes! Glad that you enjoy them!

The videographer spent $11k on his camera. The camera on my Samsung A71 is orders of magnitude superior, and I only paid around $400 for it. Mind blowing how technology has advanced in the past couple decades. Kudos to Amtrak #4 crew for picking up #6's passengers in Princeton because that train was running late.

(Same thing I said in the chat, but just so I can get a full time reply. ^^') I know this is a bit of an unpopular opinion of mine, but is it weird that I do wish that the Chief stayed on Santa Fe rails the whole way instead of switching to the former BN? ^^'

I’ve ridden the Southwest Chief several times between 2018 and 2023 and the same conductors go from KC to Chicago (no crew change at Galesburg). Was that not the case in 2000? If so, what changed?
@RailwayProductions10 ай бұрын
Engine crews made the Galesburg turn and conductors went KC-chi when I rode.

@@RailwayProductionsyou specified that they would go to Chicago, then return to Galesburg that evening on the Illinois Zephyr - but what about the rest of the way to Quincy? I recently learned from an Amtrak employee that today, both the train and engine crews are Chicago based, but the engine crew goes from Chicago to Ft. Madison while the conductors go all the way to KC.

It’s been a long time, but my recollection was that an engineer made a Galesburg-Quincy round trip, evening morning. But someone other than I probably has a clearer picture .

What does "no defects" mean?

Means things like no hot bearings, no dragging hoses etc.

I saw in the chat that you were planning another cab ride on the Empire Builder but 9/11 ruined those plans, I bet it must have been disappointing to you when your plans to be on another cab ride were dashed. Was it?
