They had some difficulty working with the voice actress in the original yakuza 2 apparently, which is why she left in literally the first scenes in yakuza 3. All we ever got were references to her until yakuza 6 basically just disregarded her existance with kiryu saying yumi was the only person he ever loved. It is refreshing to see her though.
