I think characters, especially the SAS guys had personality without their faces shown, I felt it made them seem real and closer to the unit of the SAS. I liked the contrast of them compared to those how had their faces revealed. It gave some mystery to them. Idk if I’m the the minority of wanting characters with their faces covered to keep them covered. Nøkk skin in game not showing her face was odd, but if I remember rightly when she first came out when she rappelled upside down the mesh used to flip the other way. But since she had no face underneath or didn’t wish to reveal it they then permanently pinned the mesh to her torso so that doesn’t happen, so it could’ve been a reason why they couldn’t do it?? But probably just uni being lazy

The only operators that have kept their faces hidden are considered the introverts, jäger is autistic and doesn’t talk to most on rainbow and mute is well, completely mute apart from a couple words shared with fuze

Also it’s a big part of nokks lore that her identity is hidden, she’s a part of royalty and in order to protect her and her family her identity is kept hidden, that’s also shown by all her info the biography being redacted/ classified. It’d be a real kick in the balls if they did do a full face reveal since it’s a large part of her character and background

jager’s face was actually possible to see back the chimera event. when he was downed and needed to be healed for that one objective where your supposed to protect him apparently they actually modeled his face underneath the glass and you were able to get a decent peak under it. this was however ages ago and most people didn’t really bother since well your playing the game and didn’t have anytime to mess around sadly.

A big part of the early operators not really having faces was probably because this game was a lot more of a real world tactical shooter and each group was just special forces from X country so you have the SAS, GIGN, GSG and Spetznaz all represented by faceless members of the group all in similar outfits

It's good to have both types of characters: with and without their faces shown. That's like situation with Revan from KOTOR then devs wanted a cool and iconic character design so instead of giving him a face they gave him a helmet (they were inspired by Bobba Fett btw). At the beggining of Siege Ubi probably never even thought of giving operators personality/likeness/etc. but as the game became more popular they added a bit of fan-service to it by giving new ops faces and revealing faces of the old ones. It is pretty cool but I hope not every character will get a face reveal, especialy Mute, Vigil and Nokk. Vigil's and Nook's whole arcs are about them hiding their personality and faces so it would be upappropriate (from my point of view), meanwhile Mute is just a guy who does his job and doesn't interact with people around him often, so it would suit his character. I also don't really want Mute's face to be shown because I am afraid I would get disappointed, Mark is my favorite character and I kinda prefer to stick to my imagination on that part. Though, in Vigil's case, face reveal could show some character development, as if he could feel himself safe even without the mask in the future
