Brings back a lot of memories. Grew up about two miles from that canal. You really aren't fishing the North Fork of Bishop Creek, you are fishing the Bishop canals. If you pass over Bishop Creek on Highway 6, then make the right hand turn and follow the creek down to the diversion. Fish below the diversion on the creek in the undercut banks with crickets or hoppers you will catch some really nice browns. Or keep going north on Highway 6 and turn left on Dixon Lane (maybe half a mile up) then turn left at the canal. Fish the canal from Dixon Lane to where it dumps into the North Fork Bishop Creek and then Bishop creek downstream.

Oh wow, that's so cool! It's so beautiful there! Thanks for your Insider tips. Will definitely have to try your spots next time we go!! We found it on Google maps, but we will go further like you said. We like it because it is so close to our hotel sometimes we go out and fish further and then go there for an hour or two to try our luck. Hope you have a great night! Thanks again

That's an irrigation canal behind my house. All the way to the Eastern Sierra to fish a mud hole.

Wow, how lucky for you to live there, such a beautiful town! Well that spot is really popular even people who live in town fish there, we like to fish there the day we come and the day we leave. Our favorite spots are Pleasant Valley Reservoir and June Lake. Where do you recommend for us to go next time we are there? Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
