Hi this is awesome. I have one concern tho, it looks like rain will hit the tarp ridgeline poles and run down and possibly start soaking the ends of the hammock. Have you tested this in the rain and Is there a water break somewhere that prevents the hammock ends to start soaking up water? Thanks!

@@randalgc the way it is designed. Water will run down the tarp pole and into the cup that the tarp pole plugs into. The back of the cup is open so the water will run out the back and away from the hammock.

@YOBOgear Sounds great. Man not long ago I got the adventure hammock systems vehicle hitch mount but the problem with that is when I get in the hammock the tarp collapses and gets all flappy. Something I didn’t realize or think about till I got one and used it. Your system doesn’t do that plus it can be set up anywhere and not limited to my hitch. Anyways this stand is awesome and will be impossible for me to pass up lol

What is the maximum amount of wind this stand can withhold? Can you guy it out? would love to use this at the beach in Strong wind. Thanks.

I am curious of this as well, my idea being weighing down the hubs between each leg, possibly with my pack?

I assume your questions were more about the tarp actually, but this would help with the overall stability of the platform at least

@@movieman12341 it’s easy to stake the Turtlebug down. There are attachment points on the hubs to allow for this. How much wind it can handle is determined by how good the user is at anchoring. We found in sandy areas it is easiest to use the bag style sand anchors. You simply fill them with sand and attach them to the hub. The most wind I personally have camped in using our stand was approximately 80mph microbursts with 40 mph sustained winds.

@@YOBOgear thank you for the reply! That’s super helpful. I think I will definitely be pre-ordering the stand. Looking forward to using it! just verifying, this will work with blackbird XLC Hammock, most under quilts, and Warbonnet rain fly?
