@@derekbooth5079 ten months after my sister died, I got SA and ended up pregnant. I was attacked at work while five in a half months pregnant, and lost my son. Ten months after I lost my sister. I love how, at the end of the song, she says "even when it all goes wrong" instead of "even if", because that really makes a statement to the inevitability of things never going exactly according to plan in life, but it takes alot of courage to still move on in spite of that.

My grandfather passed away in 2012 and even though I can't see him I know he's always watching over not only me but also everyone in my family. Someone's Watching Over me is my favorite song by Hilary Duff. It's an inspirational song that teaches us that no matter what happens in life you can't back down or let anything hurt you. Most importantly if you have the courage to make you dreams come true never let anybody stop you.

I found myself today, Oh, I found myself and ran away, but something pulled me back, The voice of reason I forgot I had, All I know is you're not here to say, What you always used to say, But its written in the sky tonight, [Chorus] So I won't give up, No, I won't break down, Sooner than it seems life turns around, And I will be strong even if it all goes wrong, When I'm standing in the dark I'll still believe, Someone's watching over me. [Verse Two] I've seen that ray of light, And its shinin'on my destiny, Shining all the time, And i won't be afraid, To follow everywhere its taking me, All I know is yesterday is gone, And right now I belong, To this moment to my dreams (Chorus) So, I won't give up, No, I won't break down Sooner than it seems life turns around, And I will be strong even if it all goes wrong, Cause when I'm standing in the dark i'll still believe, That someones watching over me (Verse 3) And it doesn't matter what people say, And it doesn't matter how long it takes, Believe in yourself and you'll fly high, And it only matters how true you are, Be true to yourself and follow your heart. (Chorus) So I won't give up, No, I won't break down, Sooner than it seems life turns around, And I will be strong even if it all goes wrong, 'Cause when I'm standing in the dark I'll still believe, That I won't give up, No I won't break down, Sooner than it seems life turns around, And I will be strong even if it all goes wrong, 'cause when I'm standing in the dark I'll still believe, That someones watching over, Someones watching over, That someones watching over me, Yeah, Yeah,Oh oh oh oh,oh oh oh oh,oh oh oh,oh, Someone's watching over me.

I remember this beautiful scene of her triumphant performance in this show. Plus before she sang, she remembered her brother with the spotlight on her, cheering her on. I’m holding on tight, sort of speak, on my mom & sister. Sis & I lost our dad to lung cancer 30 years ago on September 1, 1991. My sister & I were 16 (my sister) & I was gonna turn 18 a month later. My dad was so proud of my performances in my school plays during my drama club days in high school. Also my choir solo. Had he been alive today, he’d be proud of me for auditioning for The Voice 4 years ago, & my You Tube video of me singing God Bless America featured on the TV show, Inside Edition. Plus Dad would of enjoyed the perks of having 2 daughters being nurses, who would of been spoiled rotten with trips around the world. Plus tickets to the Lakers games. RIP to my dad, Roberto 😪🙏

I've had a lot of family members die and gone to a lot of their funerals same with friends..... the one death that really hit me dead center was my best friend Kyle...... we had lived together when we were little because he, his mom, and his older sister Vicki (Victoria) had need a place to stay. Years later (like 5 or something) they had moved out. Me and Kyle had become so close we had a brother/sister relationship since my brother wasn't always around so Kyle became my brother. On my 18th birthday in 2013, my parents and I had gone to Krause Farms for horseback riding. Not long after we left, Kyle was riding in a friend's car or something and they were speeding. They ended up crashing into a tree right outside of Krause Farms. The driver and person in the passenger's seat got out with minor injuries, but Kyle, who had his seat belt on, had jerked forward and his neck snapped killing him. His dad said that when they found him it looked like he was sleeping. Kyle was my age when it happened. Now I know what it's like to lose a brother and I never want to go through that again. I couldn't stop crying, especially when someone brought it up at school because it was all over the news. I was depressed and unusually quiet. Then, a friend of mine and Kyle's, who had lived/lives on the street next to mine and had grown up knowing Kyle too, talked me through it and we helped each other get through the loss. Rest in peace Kyle and please keep watch over me.

Thanks to all who've+1'd this. It's not easy to talk about this and even now I'm beginning to cry. The fact that you +1'd this lets me know that you care and probably understand. That makes my heart feel lighter and the pain feels less now. Again thank you.

I watched this movie years ago and I couldn't imagine not singing even if I lost someone close to me, and then my brother died too. All I can say is I totally understand what she went through.
