I have to admit, I have learned quite a bit more from your tutorials than I have from any others. You are direct and to the point and you show various methods to achieve the same goal! Great work!

@@ArtisansofVaulI don't really have words to express how much of a help you've been and continue to be in understanding what's going on in the program. I have a couple of years experience with Autodesk Inventor, and in many ways it's very similar, in most ways it's really not. I recently bought an Elegoo Suturn 3 Ultra (it SHOULD be here tomorrow...) and printing other people's stuff is all fine and dandy, but the real fun for me is in making my own stuff, I have a suspicion that you feel the same. I started looking at the program, tried a few things and sighed out loud when it failed miserably. But through watching your videos, I've come to a point, where you're showing something and I get it, and have an idea of where you're going next. Most of the videos and creators out there focus on models for CG, so rendering, textures and whatnot. What I want to focus on is to create models for printing, learning about joining them correctly, and what to keep an eye on when it comes to edge/face overlap, printability and so on. And in that regard you're the GOAT. All in all, just a really long rant to say that I really appreciate what you do. I doubt I would get anywhere without your guidance and I hope you keep creating stuff and keep sharing it with us, your hobby friends. Oh, and I'm definitely joining the Patreon!

Good shit my man. I try to interact one way or another on any video I watch cuz I've been learning so much from just your channel alone, gonna suck when I run out of videos. ALSO Boxcutter and Hardops were the best purchases of my life xD

I really appreciate these videos going through the techniques with Blender's native tools and then using boxcutter and other addons. Since a lot of tutorials show how to make hard surface modeling using both of those. There was only one person I could find that showed how to make a gun with booleans and that was on art station.

Thanks 😁 The great thing about Blender is that there is generally a lot of different ways to get to an end result so it just depends what technique you prefer.

First, thanks so much for these tutorials. They are game changers for my work flow and I will definitely use the last two. I did discover that with the shrink wrap method you can actually go the top of the object just fine. But you'll just need to switch your transformation to local and then use the axis commands such as clicking "z" to line it up. It needs to be set locally so it will move along the other object it seems. It can get a bit strange when attempting to move it unless you lock it in the right axis in the right camera view and then just hold control key (most important) when moving it and it should work perfectly fine. Be careful that it doesn't get confused at the bend and if it does just try again.

Cheers for the tips. It definitely can be done but it feels like a bit of a pain at points and can have some odd effects. Thanks for explaining how 👍🏻
@CosplayZine
@CosplayZine 6 ай бұрын
@ArtisansofVaul Yeah it can act a bit odd like you say. Maybe it should be done in local transform prior to moving it at all 🤔 I'll play around with it some more soon. I'm still learning about all these different setting types. Hard ops, box cutter and a free addon called ND have helped a lot when it comes to doing a lot of things in blender but I still need to learn more about the ND tool. Have you tried that one?

quick tip, if you use the shrink wrap modifier, it works better when you let the origin in the same position as the target object position😉, it mean when you add the plane, tab in edit mode and snap the plane to the surface.

Just throwing this out here: the Creative flow and Random flow add-ons are worth the money. Panels and cabling/tubing are generated instantly with a geometry node controller. I'm still figuring it out, but it's 20 bucks I don't regret spending
@ArtisansofVaul
@ArtisansofVaul Жыл бұрын
I have meant to have a look at them at some point. To be honest there hasnt been a tutorial I have seen that made me really find the panelling worth it as I like to control its the location of panels when I build but I can see for some projects it would be very handy.

How are you using those shapes to cut out of an existing shape, what did you call it, balto? 5:57

That's my accent causing issues. It's Bool Tool. There's an add on caled bool tools that comes with Blender as standard. Just go to edit, preferences, add ons, type in bool and it should be there to tick on. Then you can select two (or more) objects and press ctrl with - on the numberpad to quickly create a difference boolean from the last selected object.

I would suggest probably not. I am hoping to borrow a friends more powerful computer to be able to video that process soon (my laptop cant take doing it at the same time as recording without getting quite jumpy).

hi, do you know how to model cobra, with scales on , if it can have ‘bones’ inside to curve it however I like will even be better, then I want to 3D print it. Thank you
@ArtisansofVaul
@ArtisansofVaul Жыл бұрын
There's a lot of different ways to achieve this but the easiest would be to find a scale alpha texture that works. I'll see if I can find one.

Wow! can you tell me please how do you change the angle of the loop in minute 3:58?
@ArtisansofVaul
@ArtisansofVaul Жыл бұрын
Literally as you're doing it for you press "e" it changes to match one of the sides of the object and then "f" will swap between them. I think I have it in a video somewhere but I can't seem to find it. I might throw a quick short video together to show it more slowly.
