The frys are just like betta frys. So tiny and fragile. And also I think breeding is a lot more easier than rearing the frys. Please keep updating us. I hope you successfully rear and grow the frys to adulthood. Congratulations

Absolutely! Raising Fry is Harder than Breeding Fish. That's actually the second part of my title for upcoming video.
@heldersanches6 жыл бұрын
I was surprised to have sparkling gourami fry just a few days after i had bought 5 of these wonderful fish. Uncountable fries were hanging like minuscule bats under a frogbit floating plant. I quickly prepared an old small tank with water from the main tank, add some pothus and waterlilies roots to the tank and carefully moved the floating plant from one tank to the other with a small mug. Then I used an old Moulinex 1-2-3 machine to convert into a very fine powder a mix of dried shrimp turtle food, tropical fish flakes and cold water fish flakes. I tried to raise some infusoria but only succeeded in time for the third batch of fries. It's been an amazing experience. I've had fries for 3 times in less than a month!!! From the second batch only a few survived because I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon after the first. The oldest are now over a month old and I'm still quite unsure how many will survive since they are still so small and fragile.

Great accounting of your experiences. Yes, I think gouramis are easy to breed, but raising their tiny fry is very hard. Same experiences on my end too.

When to start feeding the gourami
@kaimukibackyard1482 жыл бұрын
In an established outdoor tub, I'm sure they're finding all kinds of things to eat. In an indoor aquarium, you'll need to feed as soon as they become free swimming. You'll have to have foods small enough for them or they'll die.

do you leave them in tanks outside?? if yes do you make water changes, and whats the weather like in your country, and what about cats?? do they try and eat them? i would like to know because i am interested in leaving them outside too.
@kaimukibackyard1487 жыл бұрын
Yes, I leave outside. Weather is in middle of recommended temperatures for tropical fish. The cats drink water from my tubs, but don't bother with the smaller fish that I raise. Your questions are the most common questions I received, therefore I made a few videos. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZXXYYGsbJWeq5Y explains why I don’t need to use filtration or aeration. kzbin.info/www/bejne/el6wqIGwfLKdi5I shows how I clean my tubs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJSlgp55i7qHra8 shares what books recommend for temperature.

It could be any number of reasons. Please list the facts surrounding your guppies dying. For example, how many guppies, what age(s), what size tanks, temperature, other conditions. You may find that other viewers of my channel will chime in their assessments too.

Sir what is the best food for gorami's fry, which food you give to fry's?
@kaimukibackyard1484 жыл бұрын
I'm sure infusoria is best followed by baby brine shrimp. However, I'm severely time limited. No time to culture infusoria, and heaven forbid would I have any free time to mix salt water and hatch baby brine shrimp. Therefore, I do what's easy and just let the microbes form in the larger outdoor tubs and do only what I shown in this video. Literally, I do nothing more.

@kaimukibackyard1487 жыл бұрын
yes, 2 gallon can hold them for awhile. Change water often though, every two to three days. In a week or two, either change water every day, or get a larger tank, say 10 gallons.

@kaimukibackyard1487 жыл бұрын
Basically, for these larger gouramis (blues, pearls, moonlight, snakeskin), you use the dorsal fin. If it's pointed, it's a male. If more rounded, it's a female. I posted several earlier videos with the parent gouramis and you will definitely see the difference in the dorsal fin.
