I always passed on the 3% because I wanted them to pay with check/cash. My second business was online booking only and credit card was the only way to pay so I just adjusted the prices up to cover it. I knew that If the invoice said their was a 3% charge and credit card was the only way to pay, I'd get complaints, so I just buried as an expense, just like supplies and equipment are expenses. Love your videos!

That's what I'm doing as well. Raising all my prices up. I was going over all my numbers my wife said I need to go up higher. As of now I have 70 Five ⭐s Google and nothing less than 5⭐s. Which is way more than the other detailers in my county. So hopefully my quality of work and my relationship with my regular clients they won't fall off. And new clients won't really know. But everyone knows that prices are going up all over so it's to be expected. However, Hourly and salary wages might not be going up depending where you work. I've been so busy that I never got my pricing together, so mine won't take affect till February 1st 😔.. this way all my clients will have a 30 day notice as well.

@@ArthurMSoto in my experience it’s usually mostly the people with the higher end vehicles that are more interested in the maintenance packages. It also depends on what type of pricing you are offering for your maintenance package. I offer a 50% discount off my express full package so for cars instead of it being $220 it’s $110 as long as the vehicle is detailed by me on a monthly basis.

Good video, I've been through this a few times now too. I think you're still too low priced on the 4 car client, instead of still offering him a discount another idea would've been just push him to monthly and with your new rate. His monthly output still the same, your efforts cut in half.

@topstardetailing yup I understand. I have many loyal clients who I rely on for their continued recurring washes. I know there are a handful that fully expect and understand price increases and then some clients that are harder to convince. I've done the same as you with some, adjusting my increases sorta like a sliding scale knowing how some will react. Bottom line is us as the business owners have to stay profitable with increasing costs of running the biz. So there's incentives to be more efficient while still being effective and keeping clients happy with services.

I’m raising my prices effective January 2025. I’ve found customers understand materials and labor are more expensive so prices need to increase. For this customer I would offer him a choice of once per month service at your new price and if he wants to maintain bi-monthly service that is his choice to make. If he switches to once per month that opens up time for a couple new clients at full price. Over a year that will mean a significant boost in sales. I don’t charge a separate fee for credit cards because I believe people don’t like extra fees! I do tell everyone that cash, check or Zelle is preferred.

"It's just a few bucks" damn, that's an extra 240 bucks a month. I think the mistake was not raising it 10 bucks after 6 months, and another 10 after the year. Then at this point you would be at that 90 and the extra 10 bucks would have been no big deal at all. Also, skip adding the CC fees on top. If people are tipping you, that could lead to smaller tips. The feeling is that you're going to charge extra fees, im just going to tip less to make up for it. Do you charge a chemical fee on every job? No. It's part of the cost of doing business.

I eat the fee as a business owner. If customers pay cash they have to be present for the transaction. That’s inconvenient. Additionally, time and time again, it’s been proven that customers who pay with a credit card spend more with you. Ask yourself this, if each of your credit card customers were to pay you cash, how much do you save in fees vs not getting that money right away. Is that worth ~3% to you?
@topstardetailing
@topstardetailing 27 күн бұрын
