i grinded for vampire using it. i fly kinda high and try to shoot enemies and if i miss i just keep going straight and slightly up if they try to chase me so i dont lose energy and then re engage when they arent following me anymore.

I really like the tempest mkii, I know people say you shouldn't take it high, but thing is it has an amazing climb rate, I usually take it 6km alt to be above everyone or at the same energy, (you really don't want a 152 to have significantly more energy than you) and I simply play it as an energy fighter, I'm pretty sure it's the plane I've learned the most of dogfighting and specifically energy fighting, pretty sure it's a pure energy fighter. Of course as the game progresses your enemies start getting lower and subsequently you and that's where you really shine with it, but you also don't want to be so low that you can't use your dive performance.

At low tier you can practice with low repair costs, so your mistakes are not as costly and you will be less passive. Once you are confident in your abilities you can go up and test yourself against better planes and better pilots.

"I have a really hard time in turn fights" Lol what? Why are you turn fighting in the first place? It's really not a beginner friendly plane or even good fighter at that BR, it's just below avg. Side climb a lot (don't start engagement unless you have energy advantage) and if you are lucky half of your team might be alive when you come back into fight. Dodging distance is kinda different for different guns. If facing .50 cals, swedish 13mm you need to dodge much earlier like before 1km (also depends upon how early your enemy is shooting in the headon), against slow guns like mk108s, mg151s you can start dodging at 800-900m. Again look at the tracers see how far your enemy is shooting you from.

In regards to the 190 A-1: 1) *Do not turn* with anything that isn't a bomber. Even against some bombers, you will lose. Use your energy retention instead. 2) Because of the limited armament of that particular plane (not necessarily true of the later 190s) headons are inadvisable. You only get 60 rds/gun, and they're MG FF/Ms so they're quite low velocity and not very accurate. They are also mounted in the wings so your chances of actually nailing those shots in a headon is fairly slim. Your 4x MG 17's will almost never result in a kill in a headon, either.

The thing is the FW 190 A1 has an above-average climb rate at its br with a great performance above 5k meters. If there is a Spitfire behind you, just run and separate until you get enough energy to energy trap them. Just remember, you are one of, if not, the quickest plane at 3.3, you can outrun anything. Because of this, your high altitude performance, and the climb rate you can out energy any allied fighter in your br. Your main foe is the P 51 C-10 at 4.0 because it has a similar climb speed and has a better top speed than you. The four 7mm mgs are extremely deadly and come with so much ammo meaning you can carry your team without conserving bullets, I disagree with these other comments in that regard. Headons are okay, I find myself able to get anyways with head one against British spitfires and Japanese zeros but the Americans have 50 cals so you shouldn't even try heading them on. Just remember to abuse the role rate to get out of the enemy's line of fire. The 20mms are there in case you need to kill an opponent quickly, you can get by with just the mgs tbh. I also forgot to mention that this plane is one of the best energy retainers at the BR. It is one of the best places to learn how to energy fight and boom and zoom because of its great climb rate, energy retention, and top speed. These planes work even better if you have one other person to play with and take turns diving on opponents. Sometimes, if you are top tier, you can even out climb a lot of people at this br as long as you are climbing at the correct indicated airspeed. As a rule of thumb always climb the A series FW 190s between 270-280kph IAS at all altitudes. Good luck flying, the FW 190 A1 is my favorite FW 190 in the game, the ammo count and the fact you are the quickest fighter plane at 3.3 makes it a very relaxing plane to fly.
