FIRST LOOK: the TLX gets some big changes from Acura for 2024. On the outside you will notice all new wheels, refreshed grill, front fascia, rear bumper and exhausts. The TLX is my favorite car and this trim level and color is the best. I wish they kept the analog guage cluster but that's my only complaint.

The TLX is a great car in its own right. It may not be the roomiest or quickest, but it looks great, it’s screwed together tightly, and is a great value as is always the case with Acura. The updates, although subtle, look really good, especially the new rims. I don’t love the 4-cylinder engines, but they’re not terrible either. Three major omissions: pano sunroof, touchscreen, and ability to use the full infotainment screen for a particular function rather than only split screen.

It actually doesn't drive like a boat 🚢 I own a 2021 TLX tech package. Yes, on paper it's heavy but the engine and trans are tuned for low end torque so you won't feel sluggish off the line. Also sh-awd pushes you around corners beautifully. My only complaint is that the power feels a little under at high speeds (like 80+ mph). But it still gets the job done. The people who complain about this car have never driven it. Dollar for dollar, this is the best value in the market. Everyone will compare it to a BMW but that will always be $10k more when comparably equipped with features. Weight on paper does not equal real world feel and putting around town. I love my TLX. I can't even imagine what the type S is like!!

Was looking for your comment lol still undecided on which trim level to go with. Originally we wanted the Type S but the Aspec is looking just as good minus the quad exhaust and some HP. Still waiting for its release date here in Cali. Any word yet? I thought it was supposed to be late November. But it’s almost New Year’s Eve lol

Checked the website and still none in the lot nor in transition.

I was really thinking about the type S but in reality, I'm not racing around and the a spec is better on fuel and is quick enough. Thank you for for making think more practically about the good value we're getting with this trim.

For those that are obsessed with touchscreens.....you need to get over that. The touchpad works pretty well and Acura does a great job of providing alternate ways to use your infotainment using other buttons. If you want to change stations or advance songs...you can use a button on the steering wheel or next to the touchpad. Same with volume control. You don't need a touchscreen to get covered with fingerprints!

The problem is that not everybody likes the touchpad. It’s constantly criticized. Why not just use a touchscreen and give people the option of using either the touchscreen or the touchpad. Acura is literally the only auto maker that refuses to use a touchscreen.

​@@icculusthe TouchPad has about a 2 week learning curve to develop muscle memory. After that it's actually less distracting to use than a touch screen as there is no reaching. Car reviewers only have the car for a few days at a time, so they wouldn't develop what owners do.

Change them. I changed my ‘21 tlx exhaust tips and it definitely has a soundtrack to the engine now since I removed the mufflers as well. Not too loud at all but definitely enjoyable now

Great video as usual. I have the 2015 TLX and love it. I was hoping for a panoramic sunroof, but I guess it's not to be. Not a fan of touchpads in general, wish the screen was a touch one. My son's Elantra has it, so why not Acura? Thanks :-).

I zonk for adding a digital dash. The previous combo of digital and analog was really slick imo. They could’ve just improved that screens functionality. Also, I like the touch pad

it all comes down to return on investment. if they wanted to add a center touchscreen they'd have to move it forward to be more reachable, and then they'd have to change the entire layout of the center stack. on the other hand, with a digital gauge cluster they can just design the screen to fit the shape of the old dashboard and swap it out. I think this generation of TLX just didn't sell well enough to justify a bigger refresh, which sucks because that'll ultimately lead to fewer sales of this model year as well.

Beautiful car, nice refresh, touchscreen don’t bother me, I hate dirtying my screen. But the vacuum exhaust were always a big pet peeve, so the change to the exhaust really sets it own identity

i have the stupid usb exhausts which is one of two complains i have with this car. ugly usb exhausts and infotainment not being able to go full screen especially with andriod auto. everything else even my analog gauge cluster is a home run in my book. personally don't like all digital clusters. i don't care how much but i need that exhaust on my car. 100 percent getting that changed when this is out.

Carplay needs a touchscreen. Receiving texts, you have like 2-3 seconds to click on the notification to have it play. Move it forward, make it touchscreen and move that overload of buttons down to the console area like heated/cooled seats buttons.

Literally the easiest. I have one and learned it in 5 mins lol. Apple car play isn’t touch to touch but all you do is scroll by swiping on the pad. But still easy

Absolutely horrendous decision by Acura to make the #1 selling trim (Technology Package) as FWD only. Regardless of region and climate, the SH-AWD makes such a difference in handling that it should be standard across the board. I, personally, am not a fan of the A-Spec… why should we be forced to get that just to get AWD?

Not much of a change from 2021-2023. Still looks nice, the blue paint is terrific, very pleased with the new wheels, don't care much about the slightly larger infotainment screen. Seems like Acura played safe and didn't make more than token changes for the refresh.
