I own a 2017 V6 and don't regret it one bit. I plan on keeping this car 'till the wheels fall off! It's a RWD car with 300HP, more than enough for 95% of my daily driving. Nothing to envy other cars when it comes to merging into traffic. I consider it very a beautiful-looking car, and what I like the most, it fits nicely with my very frugal lifestyle!

I had two V6s in the past, and now I'm on my second GT. While nothing can replace the 5.0 feeling, at this point the V6 has more power than most will really use. Still plenty of power to have lots of fun with. :)

V6 owner here. You get a V6 for these reasons: 1: Can't Afford V8 car note 2: Can't afford V8 insurance 3: First real sports car (we don't need people's first sports car to be some 400+up V8) 4: You like doing things the hard and different way. Getting a V6 to perform at a high level COSTS and takes HELLA time. There's no upgraded trim or performance packages for it. 5: You care more about handling than power. Not many people who look into mustang fall into this category. I still think it's a good option for anyone, but it is a base model

shallow way to look at it. The 4 banger and the v6 has always been a much bigger seller than the V8. And the 2010-14 you could get performance packs on them and have them fully loaded with leather etc. And stock for stock the V6 is better than even the 4 banger for quite a few reasons. Not to mention it made more HP than the outgoing 4.6 V8. Some people just buy the car for the looks not the power. Most of us here are all car guys so we want power but lets be honest everything comes down to cost. If we all had our way wouldn't we all drive GT500 or 350, or Ferrari's etc?

I have a V6 and in no way is it a downgrade. A 3.7 liter V6 is not a small engine! It has plenty of power (305 horsepower RWD). I can speak from experience the Mustang is a great car, you won't be disappointed. Keep in mind you can always add upgrades, from simple throttle controllers all the way up to custom exhaust/intakes etc. Since he mentioned the badging I'll go ahead and point out I've seen 3.7 badges (which can be purchased anywhere online). Again a 3.7 is nothing to sneeze at - if you've always wanted a Mustang go get one! 😃

Hey man, not sure why this didn’t show up any sooner. I got my V6 Mustang brand new last year. And I have been in love with this car from the very first day I saw it at the dealer. This car being a base model makes things a lot easier for repairs, upgrades and etc. I hate the radio as much as you do but, found someone that for 1k swaps it out for the 8” sync 3 one. Same thing with the rest of the interior: front seats are plug and play, if you want to swap electric ones or just go for a nice leather cover. Performance wise, we all know how modular Mustangs are. Lastly, the community and support there is both locally and globally. Cheers from Dominican Republic!

I own the 2015 with the 3.7 litre V6 and have no problem with power. Since I live in Canada I don't have the roads to really open it up. The speed limit on our "401" is a paltry 100kmh or 60 MPH. Having said that I have had no problem exceeding that limit. I wouldn't admit to going 75kmh over the limit or 109 MPH but the gas pedal was not all the way to the mat. Hypothetically. This mustang is one of the best and most reliable cars I have ever owned.

I have a 2017 EcoBoost premium. I had to have the larger screen and the premium options. It's a shame that Ford didn't offer those options on the V6.

I love the eco boost too but there are some key take aways with the v6 vs eco boost. 1. V6 makes 305HP prior to 2015 vs the eco bosst 310HP. But remember the v6 uses 87 octane and the eco only makes 310 if you use 93 octane which is like 30c higher a gallon. 2. The V6 power up top is a lot more potent than the stock eco boost. Anyone who drives an eco knows the power really dies off as you get up in RPMs and 50pmh - 100 is really lacking. 3. i had a new 2020 GT for a week and a 2020 ecoboost and when you get on them both hard, which i did the GT actually ended up with better gas milage than the ecoboost and they both require 93 octane! Just some things to note.

I’m 22 and planning on buying this as my first car. Although power and the way it sounds is definitely something I look into, I am a mostly looking to make it my daily driver and hoping it can last me at least 5 years. I’m aware that there are so many options that are more efficient for a daily driver but a Mustang is my dream car, ever since i’ve been a little kid playing street racing games on my ps2 I’ve wanted one.

I have had a Kona Blue/saddle interior 2012 3.7L 6-speed Mustang since new. It has 110K miles now. It was a lot of fun to drive even with the tall 2.73 stock rear. I installed a Procharger, 3.73s, and Roush exhaust. I drive it very frequently even though I also have a ‘19 GT350. The 3.7L is a great, robust motor and with the Procharger is a missile capable of mid 12s quarter mile, with dyno’d 485 hp and 394 ft-lb at the flywheel. It also corners very well. My total investment in it has been around $35K. I’ll have it forever!

The v-6 Mustang has enough power for 90% of all drivers. I have never owned a V-6 Mustang but I have owned a 68 Cobra Jet along with a bunch of 5,0, 351 Mustangs including the Coyote that I open tracked with. It has always been my opinion to buy what you plan on using not what other people think you need.

I own a 2018 v6 camaro; let me give you guys a nugget. The 6th gen v6 camaro is a good bit faster than any other v6 sports car, including the mustang. However, the 3.7 liter mustang sounds unlike any other v6 out there. With exhaust work, you find it hard to tell between v6 and V8. It's the best sounding American v6 by far. Pretty dang fast too.

I have plenty to say about this Joe. Like you I like that year style too. Not that I’m buying or own one, I enjoy cars like you. I don’t like the Eco four. It sounds wimpy like the Camaro turbo four. I would buy a Camaro V6 which has gotten many good reviews. Ford could have improved on this comparatively speaking. With an improved V6, they could’ve kept it as a luxury trim level like the old Gaia used to be. Get the look and style of the Mustang but with the luxury flair. Would’ve been nice. Ford kept the basic V6 for the lower trim F150’s. What gives? To be their boss for a month huh?

Whats good about the styling on the 2018s is that the hood dips lower for a sleeker look on certain angles, but i agree that the front vents on the 2017s and previous models make for a cleaner look - should've kept em the same. It seems like the new V shaped vents were a bit forced. The hood vents are also plus on the 2018s of course.

Great video and an interesting thought exercise. Yes, the GT exists and everyone (including me) likes a big shouty V8. But when you think about it, you get 300hp, RWD, avail. 6spd manual, and LSD. It not perfect but put this drivetrain in any other sports car at the same price point and the tone of the comment section changes dramatically. I could have great fun with a car like this.

If you can really really afford a V8 then get it. If not start off with the V6 or eco boost. Until you save enough money for a v8. Everything on a v8 is much more expensive. Gas , oil changes , tires , brake pads , rotors, monthly payment , insurance .
@lupavo17384 жыл бұрын
Firstly, if you can afford the V6/Ecoboost, you can afford the V8 period, as the prices are all reasonably priced very close. Secondly, many of those other things are irrelevant, such as gas? the V8 gets better gas milage than the Ecoboost lmao and many states don't require you to have insurance so you need to do more research into alot of the stuff you're talking about.
@jltgp67034 жыл бұрын
@@lupavo1738 Are you high?! Owning a V8 costs WAY more than owning a V6. The difference in price is at least 8-10k and that’s just to buy the car. And the V8 definitely gets the worst MPG.

Honestly that was the better option you went with. I personally bought a 19' GT. TheV6 isn't a bad engine but they way Ford set it up was very lackluster and made it the definition of a "rental" car. @@TheSocialPraxis for the most part Ford knows that a V6 is a viable option for the Mustang but to keep it "pure" for now, they leave it with V8 options. Look at the GT, they went against what was expected and designed the car with a V6 in mind. There were rumors of an electric mustang coupe,not the SUV, or even a hybrid.
