It's so easy to forget that Volvo exists sometimes. A car like this has something for everyone not looking for an SUV.. if you can afford that kind of car. I love Volvo for three reasons: styling, product lineup, and wagons. Nice clean, contemporary styling. They’ve kept their product line tight, focusing on making a few really nice vehicles and haven’t diluted their brand like Mercedes Benz has by making a car in every single category and sub category. And finally, their loyalty to the wagon body style.

I really enjoyed this one. Obviously I'm biased cos I drive a V40, but man you can't really go wrong with Volvo. They just need to do put a bit more "on throttle" into these machines, or give us a lot of options even for V40s, then we will remain friends for a long time. But of course safety comes first for the Swedes. Thanks for a great review Joe. It's got me loving my Volvo anew, even though I was ready to get rid of this thing. I believe the large hump that would normally act as the drive-shaft tunnel is where the batteries for the hybrid motors are stored. In the S90 the rear wheels are powered solely by the electric motors whereas the engine only powers the front wheels; I suspect it's the same with the S60, given the entire Volvo lineup is "SPA". Otherwise, I was surprised the vents in the rear are not both near the tunnel as well as in the B-pillars (such as is the case with the T6 Inscription S60). Guess with the batteries there it makes some sense. Thank you for the review, sir!

If the Volvo had a Sportback and Wireless phone charging and a toggle wheel for infotainment screen it would be perfect. But the Volvo has no competition when it comes to power in the segment. 400 ponies is awesome. For Mercedes I would only go for the CLS 53 AMG or the E53 AMG but almost double price here in Thailand. So I'm quite sure I will go for the Volvo S60 T8 Hybrid for me and the Volvo XC60 Inscription for my wife. I tried both already. Amazing...
