#AlooPosto - Traditional Bengali dish, Aloo Posto is made with spiced potatoes and cooked in chillies, turmeric, Nigella seeds (kalonji) and poppy seeds (Khas-Khas).
#DahiPakhala - Curd Rice Water (Dahi Pakhala) is an effective summer recipe made with cooked rice, water & curd and then flavoured with coriander leaves, mint leaves, lemon and green chillies. Pakhala is an authentic dish made from leftover rice in Orrisa.
#SuranFry/ Elephant Foot Yam Fry - A crispy spiced veggie dish, Suran Fry is made with yam, mangosteen, semolina (rava), poppy seeds & goan rechado masala.

21:35 Khas khas ko apnaya nahi balki apnana pada aur accidental discovery hui...... Jab forced plantations hota tha , farmers had no option other than growing opium.... It also led to scarcity of food and ofcourse famines..... Then the POSTO BAATA was discovered atleast eat something with plain rice..... Many bengalis like at our home still eat that hot POSTO paste with green chillies and piping hot rice.....
