Ranveer bro 🫡 Im a Sri Lankan and a big fan of your work. (Especially Jaishankar Sirs podcast) And I gladly say that you have done more justice to our country and our culture than most Sri Lankan leaders. Every question you asked were really important and true, but the answers were not all genuinely true I'm afraid. Although the one thing we can all agree upon is that us Sri Lankans are now more resilient and woken up more than we were ever before. We are finally less dependent on the Govt and politicians. Not all skillful youths have left the country yet. We will stay and fight till we bounce back! Thanks again for shedding this light on us ☀️🇮🇳❤️

Unfortunately Mr Milinda himself is very much part of the Rajapakse regime. It's easy for him to over simplify the issues in Sri Lanka. These are all smoke and mirrors. The root cause of all the issues is the regime and their nationalistic policy, identity politics and corruption. The family is only to blame.

Rajapaksha is currently most hated word in Sri lanka. I am from a totally unmixed sinhalese family and everyone hate the name equally irrespective of ethnicity.

Brother ❤❤❤, Rajapakse family and most of nayakas are lineage from madurai nayakar dynasty ,they aren't pure and true Sinhalese , they are the one to torture Tamils and Sinhalese and create fights and play a game ,they converted themselves to Buddhists and changed their language which was faking ,and they pretend to be Sinhalese.. that's why Rajapakse inspite of being Buddhist everyyear he goes to India to worship tirupathi in andra Pradesh , please expose this and tell this truth to save srilanka ...

Maxing out your country's credit card brings you lots of smiles from fair weather friends, also helping themselves, and also fair weather voters. "Organic" was a farce for any sensible, clear thinking, informed person. Which brings up another point: Where were all the smart people who should have been ringing alerm bells about an obvious future financial trainwreck. A massive oil storage terminal in a strategic location falling into decrepitude over the decades was a huge red flag saying, "any foreign, especially oil related investment, is not welcome here".

Isnt it the desire to establish a Singhalese power structure and one which position only a certain type of Singhalese a root cause ? Also - the reason why Sri Lanka was left with good balance sheet was because the British was to turn Sri Lanka into an administrative centre for its larger holdings in South Asia. So, it was not higher spending but the economic loss and opportunity cost from pushing a new power structure following a similar governance structure of divide and conquer like the British.

There is no bad luck. Mahinda Rajapakse took billions of dollars invested on projects where there was no returns. Biggest mistake was Gotabaya appointing his brother Basil as the main person to controlled the economy. This guy is not a economist neither have the the experience of making financial decisions on behalf of the country. No Govt. can wash their hands when a country goes bankrupt. Sri Lankan politicians are famous to give excuses and avoid responsibility. No investor will invest when there is a corrupt govt. with several cases of corruption and slip through the system. There is no freedom of speech. The country is run with an iron fist. People will come forward sooner or later if the Govt does not have a free and fair elections soon. This guy is affiliated to pathfinder.

Malinda is a great leader. this bad media and ignorance and hateful speech lead people to hate him. he is actually one of the best leader Sri Lanka ever had so far.
