Excellent points raised. All Universities and schools around the world have professors teaching religion and philosophy. Look at them. Judaism is taught by a Jew, Islam is taught by a Islamic Scholar who is a born and practicing Muslim. All Chinese information comes from a Chinese person. But, almost all teaching of Hindu Religion and India in Western school is taught by a Western "Scholar" who has a Phd in their Kitchen school, and born and practicing Christian totally biased, and are anti-Hindu who studied the 19th and 20th Century writings of British and German writers; have little knowledge of Sanskrit or Indian Culture or tradition and have no empathy.

You are right , most Westerners have a tendency to slightly undermine Hinduism. Or misinterpret it, we definitely need proper Pandits trained in the Sampradaya and who know the commentaries to give a proper representation of it. But however please do not say that all Western scholars have a biased stand. There are some who genuinely appreciate Hinduism. An example is Dr Nick Sutton.

By he time AMBEDKAR came on the scene , the society was in shambles, the country was in shambles in utter despair , not knowing as to how to come out of this barbarism and colonialism of IMPERIALIST ISLAM and Christianity. By the middle of 20th century , Hindus themselves were not in control of their destiny . They were desperate - under foreign rule for 1000 years. !!! everything collapsed . And then came GANDHI . GANDHI , as noble as he was , as great as he was committed his own blunders. Gandhi was appeasing Moslems for reasons best known to him. It must be clear to any ordinary person, that INDIANS must be freed from both ISLAMIC IMPERIALISM and BRITISH (CHRISTIAN) Imperialism. Becoz of the presence of large Moslem population , GANDHI neglected truth that part of ISLAM . Moreover , GANDHI was monumentally blundered when he talked about ISLAMIC CALIPHATE !! Why did he bother which is not INDIAN concern at all . Was he promoting ISLAMIC IMPERIALISM ? First do you know hoe this ISLAMIC IMPERIALISM ( CALIOHATE, fascist theocracy ) came about. This was the direct result of religious wars , for hundreds of years between MOSLEMS and Christians - called JIHADS Vs Crusades . Moslems , copied everything from Christianity , including this idea - ISLAMIC CALIPHATE !! Becoz Christians have already the religious institutions as supreme POPE /CHURCH . With little bit more thinking and imagination Ambedkar could have solved many problems of his concern. He got the highest posts any way . At the end , Neither GANDHI nor AMBEDKAR were familiar about ISLAM and about ISLAMIC BOOKS - SIRA, HADITHS and QURAN. Remeber , at that time it was difficult to get all the knowledge - becoz those books were in Arabic !! Even now , with the the communications revolution,internet, people are ignorant about ISLAM - becoz Moslems , despite horrendous crimes, massacres, slaughter , butchering , attacks, rapes, abductions,killings committed by Moslems-- are successful in keeping the nonmoslems confronting them with with truths,facts. SO Moslems are very successful in lulling the nonmoslems into silence !! Here is our role , to liberate humanity from the shackles of ISLAM, including Moslems themselves . But it is a arduous process. Moslems are brain washed and turned into zombies into their blind beliefs. Adding to this is the extreme fascism, totalitarianism, dogma of ISLAM- killing any person if they fall out of line !!

here the problem lies, you people are selective in your approach, you just took the point which suits your propaganda. no doubt Ambedkar was a great scholar but what you are trying to project that he denounced Hinduism whole as a religion is utterly false. he denounced a particular bad tradition of Hinduism namely "caste system" and demanded reforms in Hinduism from inside. he wanted reforms by social movements and by people themselves rather by using law. at some level he succeeded by creating great awareness but he was not satisfied with the total outcome of his efforts so he renounced Hinduism and accepted Buddhism as a protest to further strengthen the cause of removal of cast system. And he could renounced it without any problem coz Hinduism do not have any kind of Apostasy punishment unlike some other religions. but let me tell you other story, Ambedkar explained the muslim invasions of india and their common intensions to attack n finish Hinduism. he did great research n provided lot of historical evidences in support to his arguments. now my point is when there is debate in india about muslim invasions, breaking temples, rapes n killings of hindus by invaders, NO ONE Quote ambedkar in these kind of debates and liberals often downplay in such debates n say that theses are exaggerated facts framed by hindu right wingers. and even some people celebrate the invaders like kasim, gajani, gauri, taimur and many more. This is HYPOCRISY! now if you respect ambedkar then go read this book called "PAKISTAN or PARTISAN OF INDIA" for the scrutiny of my words. And stop degrading Hinduism, every religion has its own flaws so does Hinduism but Hinduism is not a rigid religion , Hinduism is the most flexible n evolving religion, it knows how to change with the need of Time and that's why it is worlds oldest faith which exists today. today i met a few Bhil tribals working in the state Tribal history museum in Bhopal, they told me about the cultural assault they are facing by the Christian missionaries who are continually tricking their relatives n families back home in their region to convert religion(and all the trickery and crimes that come along with such activities) ..and that there is absolutely nothing (governmental/non-governmental or religious agency) checking or challenging such practices, which are absolutely unconstitutional and also very immoral, and how helpless,underprivileged and resourceless they are in this ideological/cultural/religious battle oppressed upon them by such organised Global powers who have all the privileges(legal/illegal moral/immoral) . This (and many other similar small battles) must get our attention and championing support, as this might be the last generation of youth who find such grave issues as "concerning" ..or else it might be a gone cause and a lost (regional)Culture . This is the first time I am hearing Rajiv Malhotra. Sounds like an intelligent man. I could hear only the first fifteen minutes and he sure does sound interesting. But a small note for him...maybe he missed a point when he was referring to a "frozen, fixed book from a prophet which cannot be changed'!! Rajiv!!! No book came from a prophet!! The prophets were the messengers! And secondly, the so called frozen books are not all that frozen!! Ijtihad( study) has been a part of the books and every generation has been free to study and evolve!! Surprised how a smart man like Rajiv missed this!!???

Arent you seeing a contradiction in your statement? As i understood from your qoute: 1) No book came from prophet. Then who wrote the books? Prophets themselves? or his followers? 2) (I think this what you mean) Prophet wrote the book. But thoughts were not his, it was mere copy-paste by messenger/prophet from the God. Hope i got it right. 3) If the above is right, then obviously as time passes, books has to be updated (atleast certain points). For this again messenger should come. But if messenger do not come, then book will be freezed. So the contradiction here "messenger has to be come update the book" and how can someone claim so-and-so is the last messenger? Then that means book is frozen.

"Hindu Dharma = Varnashram". Wrong. Varnashram is just one drop of an ocean called Hindu Dharma. 2. "Religious supremacy of certain race". Wrong. We Indians are just once race as proven by many recent genetic studies. 3. "Foreign convert to Hinduism are treated as celebrities". This is an unsubstantiated and irrelevant statement in this video. 4. "We occupational caste". May be you typed in haste and left this sentence unfinished and hanging, but still wrong. We never had "caste" before the brits came to India. 5. "Who the f*** gave him authority". There is no need for any external authority. I met this gentleman by accident. My brother Dr A.N .MURTY by himself a great individual asked me to join him. We met him and I happened to pay good amount of my time to absorb him and his object and his speech... He has very good lingo of words. Talks of open architecture and closed architecture.. Indra's net. At the end of the day it makes.no sense..Why Should I worry about his Identity issue. I lived here in US and was respected by many american people who recognized my identity and accepted me. Not only that they embraced our culture but also enjoyed our temples and food like samosa, idlee and pacora. Americans marry .indian and indian marry american. But there is good and bad. He is not practical ln addressing and imposing his views and creating unrealistic issue.. I am Proud to be Indian in this country. It is his personal problem. Ignore him. If token respect from the west for our cuisine and proficiency in IT is all you need to have a sense of identity then you desperately need to broaden your horizons.
