There is not one translator in Gita Press, there are several scholars who do translation, and each is published separately. They also do the translation of different commentaries as well, the commentaries that have been done by Adi Shankharacharya, Abhinavguapta, Madhavacharya etc. And to understand any Sanskrit text even if its translation, one needs to have prior knowledge of the texts, what they are about to expect, the other works of the commentator on which his works his based on, for eg: Vedanta or Kashimiri Shaivism or Advaita etc. In several cases you just can't pick up a text and start reading and expect to understand everything, one needs to understand the context and the foundation on which the texts are based.

15 minutes into the video and I have now already started to see how the so called scholars of Sanskrit, are either careless in translating it correctly or it is their apathy towards the language which motivates them to leave the translation with so many errors. If Sanskrit is to be translated it must be done very carefully, without distorting the beauty/rasa of the original text and it's time that we Indians should take the responsibility to own the department of translating and scrutinizing the translation done by others for the rest of the world. Excellent, I am impressed with Mr. Nityananda's knowledge of Sanskrit. It proves that only Indians should have the authority to translate Sanskrit for the rest of the world.

I am still a bachelor from Malaysia and in future i will make sure my children learn Sanskrit from someone valid but definitely not from westerners. I myself as an Indian feel so lost and deeply sad for not knowing Sanskrit. I feel so ashamed of myself.

We Hindus must incorporate one great organisation, which will verify and authetify the interpretations & translations and print, publish etc all our Sansrut Granths. Those should be made available to we Hindus and all in the world.

Sir, My humble request is to publish all books in English. This will remove all doubts. This episode may not be seen by many.

Among so many literary festivals are happening every now and then; I believe a Geeta Press organized/driven one will be most valuable and rightful.

Namasthe, Thanks for your important work. As a sanskrit-illiterate, I can still recognize words like Mati, Samardha, kruthagnya etc. from tamil/telugu words. It is sad that supposedly scholarly work in academic have been unexamined for this long. Thank you

Even Bibek Debroy translates as 'bull' amongst sages, although when I read it , I naturally assumed bull amongst sages means the greatest of sages .

Brilliant work. These westerns should not get away with corrupting our scriptures as done in the past. You people are the warriors of new India. Whole India will support you. I have bought you book , Breaking India forces and I encourage everyone to buy books written by Indian schoolers about our history. Other authors worth reading are Shushil Pandit, Sanjay Dixit, Amish Trivedi, Madhu Kishwar, Durga Das etc.

I bought Bhagavat Gita as it is but didn't feel like reading after few chapters then few weeks back bought Gita Eng transileration and translation in English. Trust me when I say this there is a hell and heaven difference. Gita press book has exact dialogue and translation without any bias modifications... Unlike the Iskcon one... I have completed 18 chapters with ease and fully satisfied by the divine words... Price is very reasonable and good printing quality.... One should read exact words and understand it by their own level.. Commentaries and purport drifts u away from the actual sayings.... Coz its the speaker's thinking not of Divine Supreme being.... Looking forward to buy more books from Gita Press.....

No matter how much education one may have got in an English medium Jesuit christian school, if during his childhood he has read even the hindi translations of Bal Ramayan, etc and Chandamama ( a children's monthly magazine ) he / she will have got the sense of being a Hindu Indian.
