Now that the research work and the contents of the library has been made public through this video, one must take heed of the dangers faced. There are enough forces (Islamic, Christian, NGOs, etc...) that would like to see this library destroyed. Digitalizaton must progress at great haste. The originals should be preserved in underground vaults at a safe place, to avoid the dangers of fire and bombs.

I entirely agree. After DMK came to power in 1967, they destroyed the Sanskrit books in the library in the Annamalai University. The govt did not prevent it. In Tamil Nadu, govt is run by goondas- only the degree varies. Such a treasure house of Sanskrit is not safe in Chennai. Something must be done to shift them to a safer place.

I have been trying to learn Sanskrit for the past few months, and although I found some good textbooks and a very expensive Sanskrit-English dictionary, resources are pretty hard to come by where I live (USA). It's even more difficult to find someone with whom I can speak Sanskrit to practice it. Do you know of any good resources? I'm focusing on Classical Sanskrit right now, not yet Vedic.

+ Carter Wood Most books were written in 19th century(India was already 100 years of British rule and 700 Muslim rule). Indians were slaves then. In most European eyes, Indians were undeveloped people. However if you read Indian references in Greek or Arab or Eastern books before 10 AD, they all loved India. Please kindly avoid reading 19th century books. They were written by deeply racist people (those books finally created WW2. Hitler adopted these ideas from historians ). Why can just find a South Indian temple in USA and talk to priest ? You got two options 1. Books written by resists 2. A person who read many Sanskrit books in traditional way. Hate vs love choice.

In the battle against these Hinduphobic western academicians, these Western so-called scholars refuse to debate with Rajivji under the pretext that Rajiv is not "properly qualified" - that is, he doesn't have a PhD and toe their line. This is true also of "converted" Indians such as Ananya Vajpeyi who ape their Western teachers. Hope the Modi government recognizes Rajiv's services and gives him a Padma Shree and involves him in the re-writing of history textbooks for Indian schools. Mr. Malhotra , Growing up here in NJ , i was once asked, ridiculed, "what has India given us besides snake charmers". As a youth at about 8-10 years old i didnt know how to respond.
