In today’s episode of Figuring Out, we have Dr. Gurjot Singh Marwah in conversation with Raj Shamani.
He is a certified dermatologist and hair transplant surgeon based in Mumbai. His knowledge of skin health, medicines, and different surgeries will give you clear answers to a lot of your doubts today.
In this episode, he shared the reality of medicines and creams that dermatologists sell under their name. He revealed the facts and side effects of chemicals like minoxidil, and isotretinoin, and shared if anti-dandruff shampoos and a healthy diet have any effect on dandruff. He shared some common beauty treatments in Bollywood and the difference between Botox and Fillers and other IV Therapies. He also shared his thoughts on the products that are just a ‘hype’ in the market. We also asked him about the effects of chemicals like Hyaluronic acid, Salicylic acid, Niacinamide, Kojic acid, and Retinol.
Towards the end, he exposed a 7-step skincare routine, hydra facials, cleanups, facials, facemasks, micro-needling, and more. We also asked him about popular myths like- does masturbation cause pimples? Are more SPF sunscreens better? Do anti-aging products make your wrinkles disappear? And many such myths. We ended with asking him the most googled questions and the answers will surprise you! Till the next episode subscribe to our channel and join us on this journey of Figuring Out.

@@rajshamani Hi Raj Shamani, I wanted to share a suggestion with you regarding hosting a podcast featuring the memory genius, Virendra Mehta. He possesses profound knowledge about Kundalini Chakra and Brahmacharya (Celibacy), which would be of great interest to many fans. Virendra Mehta stands out for his authentic and credible information, making him a valuable guest for your podcast. Additionally, I encourage you to explore interviews with historical figures such as Swami Vivekananda, Ramkrishna Paramhansa, Yoganand, OSHO, Buddha, and Bodhidarman, as their insights have significantly shaped India's spiritual landscape. Thanks for a great video again. I would like to see more interviews touching on the mental health issues that surround our cultural conditioning and create complex PTSD in people that make us lead miserable life for generations. The concept of complex PTSD is very new and helps unravel a lot of mental health issues. It goes back to our upbringing, social values and conditioning to address the problem from its roots. Similar to how your medical experts talk about full scan of the environment we live in to have a good diagnosis, complex PTSD can provide us similar framework for our mental health issues.

Precise and spot-on responses! This is something that more and more people ought to understand to stop wasting money on goods that companies sell by inciting fear. Actives really do work, and they really improve skin. However, glass skin and multiple-layer skincare are just marketing gimmicks. It's about time we understood this.

As a doctor, first few minutes of the podcast I absolutely disagree and have so many counter questions on so many points. Gut health is not important for skin and hair???? Are u serious? Genetics are the cause but what about aggravating factors that’s diet and lifestyle? There are medicated facewash jinka kaam hai to control acne more not just face saaf kar dia. Iron deficiency anemia gives u hairfall. Chronic anemia can cause permanent hair loss. So multivitamins iron b12 don’t work? Galderma allergan blah blah are not “billion dollars company” because they research so much. It’s because they have become brands like LV in clothes 🤦‍♀️

@@theduskyera See I am a final year mbbs graduate I will explain shortly why dermatologist priscribed those medications U said u have Acne problem So Acne are multiple types and most common are Fungal acne and Bacterial Acne and these both can occur together So AF 300 tablet is Fluconazole tablet which is Anti fungal drug for ur fungal acne And Cefadroxil is Anti bacterial drug for your bacterial acne And cleanser is for cleaning ur skin surface for removal of oil and any minor bacteria Because oil deposition can also cause acne so have to use cleanser atleast 2 times a day Sunscreen is must and everyone should use it and it's ur choice And u said gel it's most probably Azelaic acid gel or Benzyl peroxide gel which mostly used to treat acne by applying on acne spots So I think u understood clearly why ur dermatologist recommended those medications. And I can also understand after buying all those medications we have to spend lots of money obviously we feel our doctor don't know anything and he prescribed lots of unecessary medicines U have to know that becoming dermatologist in India is very hard It totally takes 15 to 20 years to become dermatologist so they learn a lot and have vast clinical experience so u can trust them Hope this clears ur doubts

The doctor laughed about face yoga n the massage but he'll never be able to know the science behind the face massage. As we all know massage improves circulation. Also during face yoga and massage we press some vital points on our face known as Marma Points that have great significance. So it's good that you know about your pathy, but things that outwit you, all you can do is laugh n make fun of it

Gurjot, we need this type of honest doctors in our country❤.

Here this doctor never spoke about how life style effects your skin. He is mostly suggesting needle treatments which is profitable for him. I agree aging shows wrinkles and other changes on skin and body, if treatments are only way the all celebrities will do only treatments without good life style. Eat healthy, sleep good, stress free, life style changes... These are enough to have great skin and age gracefully
