Can the battery be charged without being in the frame? I plan to leave the bike in my cellar as I live in an apartment. I definitely can't carry the bike up 6 flights of stairs.

so on a full charge would you load up rear panniers and do a good 50 miler spin using mainly sport mode eco i reckon would be useless ,i intend buying this model in a few months 2340euro ..any cons you came across.

Hi, I've just purchased the earlier model {2020} Not done 50 mile's yet. The answer is yes with a 500w battery. I live in Wales and it ain't flat nowhere here ! LOL and just done a long / steep climb.

Very good review but your comment regarding the shock locks "maybe if you are standing up and pulling hard on the pedals" worries me a bit as I have just purchased one of these but am still waiting for it to be built. I don't much like the thought of having to stand on the pedals... Would you really do this, if so what sort of gradient are you referring to?

Hi! Great review! Thank you. I just got me one too and I am wondering: Is there any way to remove the key from the anti-theft lock? I can only do that with the bike locked and I am not sure that is a fault or it is designed to be like that. Thank u
@malcolmwoodcock3955 жыл бұрын
Yes you're quite right, the key can only ever be removed with the bike locked. That way, you'll never leave the bike unlocked, however briefly you intend to leave it. If you do, the thief has access to your battery too!!

Didn't expect to find you here! I'm looking to buy one. Not quite sure, if it is going to be worth spending quite a lot of money on this as I got a Derby bike and since the battery broke down, I'm finding it very difficult to get a same new battery. How are you doing? I have moved to Sutton. Your naighbour now!

Just {2 days ago} purchased a s/h Centros, 500 w 2020 bike, which is very much like this one. It's very sleek and will run down hill's quickly without peddling. {Unlike my previous eBike.} 35 year's ago I had a Record Ace Fast Touring bike and this remind's me of that, but with straight handlebar's not drop. I live in Wales and my previous bike, wasn't keen on the steep hill's, here. This one in TURBO will cope with one's I couldn't ride up, quite easily. And some I did, like a flash ! LOL.... I don't like the Deralier on this bike. I've had the chain off, front & rear, it's not particularly smooth changing and the operating is quite clumsy! I use to have 7 gear's which was plenty and I'll probably change the operating system soon & reduce the amount of gears'. I found this bike much lighter than my previous one, a rear wheel motor & chunky almost mountain bike wheels. This is a lovely ROAD BIKE and I'm looking forward to cycling where I've been unable to, in the Welsh Valley's. I'm 74 year's old. I also wanted the 500 w battery to get as many mile's out of it as I can. PS. I found the ECO mode almost useless and preferred to have NO battery assist. TOUR was the equivalent to my previous bike. SPORT get's up most hill's and TURBO up the one's I was unable to previously. >>> I've decided to remove the "Computer thing" when leaving the bike. It comes off {too easy} and I can see it being an attractive item to steal. ... FINALLY.... You'll be amazed at how often when using the rear lock, it catches the spoke's. LOL I'd highly RECOMMEND one of these bike's....

Nice, I need one for my deliveries in Glasgow. As much as I love vintage Raleighs, I really need an electric bike for delivery jobs as the there is no such thing as a flat road in most of Scotland
@HTJB602 жыл бұрын
Rubbish..... You need to live in Wales or Northampton.... When I cycled up in Scotland for 2 week's, I was surprised at HOW FLAT IT WAS. Your road's go around the Mountain's, not over them. Admittedly in was the lower part of Scotland but coming from Northamptonshire we were shocked at how flat it was, compared to our home county.

@@HTJB60 Wow, your area must really have some terrain then

@@farouqomaro598 Northamptonshire has a lot of steep hill's. Where I now live, a welsh Valley it is constant hill's. I use to live in Beith, just outside Glasgow but had a 3 wheeler then as I was only 5 or so. LOL My partner & I were astonished at the mileage we clocked up in the lowland's. Where we use to do around 100 miles a day, we were doing up to 150 in Scotland !

@@farouqomaro598 Hi, I've written quite a long 'review' about my new Centros, 2020 bike. Look's almost the same. The TURBO will get you up some pretty steep incline's, Farouq.

Useless seen as its limited to 15.5 mph what a joke
@Jam_Bon5 жыл бұрын
It doesn't mean you cannot go faster than that - its just the legal limit that ebikes can assist up to - after that its down to the design of the bike... I know some are very annoying when going past this limit and feel like they are restricting you. In his full review of this one he says that going beyond this assisted limit is actually nicer/less restrictive with this bike than others!
@googleprofile66605 жыл бұрын
@@Jam_Bon there's no point in having an ebike if it's limited to 15.p mph mate, I get to 20 mph on my normal carrera
@Jam_Bon5 жыл бұрын
@@googleprofile6660 Depends on your situation - I do 17 mile round trip to work and lots of hills on the way back. Going up hills at 15mph with about 50% of the effort and no need for standing up on the bike is pretty sweet! .... Also, I am not sure if you are understanding me correctly either, you can go faster than that - it just stops assisting you at that speed - so, if you can keep the bike going at 20 then thats what happens
@Aero655 жыл бұрын
@@mozzjones6943 - You can't blame Raleigh for making its bikes conform to European regulations. In fact I hear that the EU will probably drop that regulation soon and raise the powered speed up to the same as in the USA as it's not a big increase and it's easier to make bikes that conform to both markets.
