I bought the $20 universal Rally Armor Mud flaps with the blue logo, they were very easy to install, look great and are protecting my car.

Question. Is your WRX a 2015? And how hard were they to install? I've been looking at getting a pair for my 2015 but I'm not sure they'll fit.

I just ordered Rek Gen mud flaps for almost half the price. A lot of people I know actually swear by Rek Gen. I do agree though. Wish I would have gotten them sooner
@AutoEnthusiast6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they are worth every penny. Super practical.

How you liking them? Just traded a 16 WRX for a 19 STI and looking for flaps.. im a little concerned with how stiff the rek gens and rokblokz are but im also not lowering my car. And id rather save the ~80 bucks if i can

I have a WRX with the performance package, world rally blue. Should I go with the red logo to match the interior, or blue to match the car?

Great review! Been thinking of switching the color of my mud flaps and probably going with black this time, a little more low key this time around

Let me start off let me say love your page quick question I just bought a Wrx that has them already but when I reverse and turn my wheel to the right and not all the way it tends to rub is that normal if not how can I fix it?
@AutoEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
I assume it's rubbing on the rear? If so, bend the aluminum cut out that supports the mud flap
@MrNE20133 жыл бұрын
No actually it’s my front right side rubs when I reverse and turn right but if I turn all the way it won’t rub

Quick question, why even bother getting a wrx and not a STi? Secondly, I endurance race where I live and it is part of the requirements is to have mud flaps. There aren't many to choose from and RA has like you said, saved me from getting kicked up crap all in my wheel well. Technically they aren't supposed to be pretty lol. But good review although allot of stuff wasn't taken into consideration

There’s a lot of reasons for a wrx over an sti. Namely, the wrx is more for daily driving. Whereas the sti is more track ready. Clutch is stiffer, for daily driving in traffic that’s a bitch. There’s also the 2.4L flat 4 in the 22+ wrx that feels extremely close to a 2008-2013 wrx and sti. The new wrx also at idle has a rumble to it making it more of an appealing option over the problems you’d have to deal with in an sti. Also power. In a 22+ wrx you can get an AP a tune for e85 and pick up 134 wtq. No additional parts needed. Making it extremely cheap and being more reliable. Now don’t take that as I hate Sti’s there’s a time and place and daily driving just isn’t what that car is about at all. I’m fine with having an sti as long as it’s not my daily driver.

@@imoffendedthatyouareoffended Valid points.. although my 14 STi tuned on e85 with all my modifications is pushing 440whp and has been my daily since 2018. Granted I take care of my car, let it warm up, same oil, never punching it under 3k rpms, letting it cool off in between runs. She's been absolutely reliable, and my favorite car I've owned.

"most important reason is to protect your paint" Lets be real guy, most important is because they look cool af adding that rally drip to your car. Makes the stance look a bit wider cuz they poke and c'mon, it makes cars (esp subies) look more like their racecar older brothers. Keeping wheel spray with rocks and rain down and away from your paint or people behind your car is not the top reason people get these. Also why would you clean your mudflaps unless theres snow nesting between then and your tires, in any case just kick that out. Dirt on your flaps means youre using them right so why wash that away you goon?
@imoffendedthatyouareoffended9 ай бұрын
It’s literally the only reason I put them on my 23 wrx, my 2020 wrx I put them on because it looked cool. But I’m tired of all the shit on the side of my doors because I drive through mud to get to my house. Tired of flicking rocks at my door panels too. I held off but man they’re too practical to not have in your car.
@dmacarthur53567 ай бұрын
I don't know man, the first time I went through some sand/small gravel mix on the road for snow I was like WTF? It is crazy how much shit a WRX/STI throws up. The wheels on STI are full of chips too. I'm not a looks or stance guy, mine is a Limited so it doesn't even have the STI wing so it's more about protection for me when I get my wheels freshly powder coated.

Don't need flaps, not going on the dirt.

5 minutes of just ranting. Wtf>? At least show some video clips of how the mud flaps look now over time and how it standed up to the snow, heat, rain, etc. show if the flap has faded or lost elasticity/flexibility, or see if the bolts came loose or if there were any issues with rubbing
