Very, very few in the world can get to grips with rally driving. Having the ability to steer, upshift, downshift, accelerate and brake, all the while fighting the car in terms of it's stability, in the face of extreme danger in high speeds, soft and sharp bends and turns, all the while trying to avoid EVERYTHING on the sides of the road in interchangeable conditions breeds a metahuman that can do all of this, in the fastest time. I've tried it many times, and I simply cannot do it, because I just can't think quick enough to cope with the sudden and quick changes in directions, especially the ones you drive in at VERY high speeds. Watching you do it fills me with anger and frustration, but it's not your fault at all. It's at myself, because I would love to be that person that can even do close to what you did in this video, but I simply cannot. You can't just simply get in a rally car and drive. You have to be ELITE for this kind of motor racing.

@ProjectSimRacing Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much bro! I really do appreciate it! ✌️
@wrc5557 Жыл бұрын
Amazingly well driven in the game undoubtedly - but 00:32 makes the in-game physics look rather ridiculous. There is no way a really rally car would go from 6th gear circa 115mph to scrubbing off so much speed and rounding a bend like that with a pull of the handbrake in such a short distance and on a loose surface! In real life it would have been a 60 or 70mph trip into the trees and a major accident. I'm not dissing your sim driving skill at all - Its an amazing set up you have and I doubt I could get close to your times, but as a rally fan of several decades, gamer and occasionally rally competitor, my comment is on the poor game physics and the disappointing translation of the sport into the WRC game by the developers - and not on you maxing out what the game makes possible! I've been waiting patiently for this game for years and had high hopes, but have found myself rather quickly loosing interest in it which is a shame. Top marks though on your sim skill in the game - please dont try it in a real Evo VI though lol :-)
@ProjectSimRacing Жыл бұрын
@wrc5557, thanks for the insightful comment! I get where you're coming from regarding the game physics. While WRC 23 offers a thrilling experience, it does have its own interpretation of rally car dynamics, which might not always align with real-life behavior. It's a constant challenge for developers to balance realism and playability. I'm glad you enjoy my sim racing, and rest assured, I'll keep my Evo VI stunts virtual! Because I don't have an Evo VI 😝😅

Not an answer to what game got me into gaming but can tell you what game got me into hang gliding and I went on to become British Series Championship and a Bronze medalist at the world championships in 2013. Pilotwings on the Nintendo 64. You could fly a hang glider in it. I said to a mate when playing it "wouldn't it be great to do the real thing" He said let's go tomorrow to a school as I know where they reach it. That game changed my life completely

From gaming to becoming a British Series Champion and a Bronze medalist at the world championships in hang gliding - that's truly inspiring. It's amazing how certain games can influence our real-life paths and lead to life-changing experiences. Thank you for sharing this with us; it really shows the impact gaming can have beyond just entertainment. Congratulations on your achievements, and keep soaring high!

@@ProjectSimRacing the game basically jolted my childhood memory of wanting to take up hang gliding. Finally did when I was 33. Just Google Tony stephens hang gliding. Think I'm still on google. I won the series in 2010 and it got me in the British team for the World championships where we won team Bronze

Wow this reminds me of the days when i used to play Colin Mcrae Rally on playstation before it changed to that Dirt rubbish. Love this, very nostalgic and great setup.

Thank you so much, @Brae2468! It's great to hear from someone who appreciates the roots of rally gaming. Colin McRae Rally on PlayStation was indeed a classic and set a high bar for the genre. I'm glad that my setup and the new WRC 23 game could bring back some of those fond memories for you. Thanks for watching and for your kind words about the setup!

Man you're so cool. This setup is unbelievable, the time and effort you must've put into this. It looks so worth it, your sim setup must be a unique one across the globe, it's really an accomplishment.

Thank you so much, @fatdoggolovespizza! Your words mean a lot. Indeed, a lot of time and effort has gone into creating this setup, and I'm thrilled to know it's appreciated. I like to think it's quite unique, and I'm glad it stands out! I've taken inspiration from channels like @boostedmedia and @karlgosib, but of course, we all put our own spin on it. Your support and recognition are truly motivating.🙏

nice drving, iv found all thee sims so hard to drive. harder than real life for me. tho maybe if I had a steering wheel it be easier than a ps controller. but is the next step VR of this? because they have done an amazing detailed job in this game
@ProjectSimRacing Жыл бұрын
Thanks @CoolCoyote! Sim racing can indeed be challenging, especially when using a controller. A wheel setup does make a significant difference in simulating a more realistic driving experience. As for VR, it's another level of immersion, but my setup uses triple 55" OLED TVs for a panoramic view, which I find more comfortable and visually stunning than VR. Keep practicing, and you might find yourself enjoying the sims even more!✌️
