melodyfinch is right, the plots closest to the market get filled first, and you don't have enough goods in the market, even though it shows three months worth of supplies available. However proximity of the market to the burgageplots does not matter, goods get apparently transferred in this case via the power of magic, nobody goes and buys things at the market and nobody physically delivers goods to the plots. It is important to have the market close to the granary and storehouse and to have both staffed, maybe with more than one family, so they can put out enough market stalls to satisfy demand. Building another market won't really do much, the first market will get filled with stalls and then the second market will fill with stalls, however you can move single market stalls even to another market place, I haven't tried that yet. Of the required items you need as many as there are burgageplots, not families, so if you have 10 plots and 2 food items are required you need 10 of each food item. Click on the market and mouse over the items shown, it will tell you more of what is going on for each house at a glance, also use TAB to see more information.

Interesting, thanks for the explanations! The market thing is interesting, I'm guessing it's not widely known, as I've watched a few guides on YT that talk about setting up satellite markets as your residential district grows. I feel like there's a few mechanics like that which could do with some further explanation in-game (or at least a menu or overlay or something that helps identify logistics issues better)... my first attempt at farming went quite amusingly badly 😂

@@boringdadgaming I know, setting up another market is a logical thing, given that the closest plots get served first, but it will be further from the storage buildings. I have about 20 hours in game and am still on my very flawed first attempt building peacefully, lots of mistakes, but somehow things are still running. I can understand the developer not really implementing tutorials or too many tool tips for game mechanics, it would be nice, but on the other hand the developer will certainly change a lot of mechanics and balancing. Two channels that have great tutorials and explanations are "ItalianSpartacus" and "Strat Gaming Guides", especially regarding farming and market functionality.

Ok, the marketplace fulfills the buildings closest first. So you don't have enough goods to provide the furthest burgages. I don't think building another marketplace will have any effect.

I think proximity does come into play at a certain point, but yeah I've started to think, as those plots are relatively close, that it's simply an issue of not enough supply
