Can’t help but think if Thierry had this on tarmac in wrc instead of the Hyundai he’d be unstoppable amazing car and driver and the sound is incredible

'Unstoppable' is something unclear but let me say: Loeb and his 306 Maxi were and are able to keep up very well with the R5' s and Rally2 cars - in France, at top level

@@blanco57 As from the 60-ies, I know ... And that means that the level of Rally2 cars have increased to that of the old WRC cars or at some points even more

These F2 ( Formula 2 ) rally cars of the 1990:s were all fwd 2 liter naturally aspirated cars, and in the end of the 90:s, before the series was cancelled, they had around 280 + hp, and this Peugeot revved to around 10 000 rpm, and made a great sound. Sadly this class was cancelled after 1999 since most teams, Citroen, Peugeot, Seat, Skoda and Hyundai all left this series to try their luck in the big 2 liter 4wd turbocharged World rally car series, although only Citroen and Peugeot achieved any success in the WRC class. Loeb did not drive this car back in the day, since he was a Citroen driver then, but he did drive the smaller and less powerful Citroen Saxo in the Super 1600 class, which had fwd naturally aspirated 1600 cc cars with around 220 hp. The 306 Maxis were driven by Gilles Panizzi and Francois Delecour back in the day. Citroen did ran their Xsara Kit Car F2 with drivers Philippe Bugalski and Jesus Puras, and won 2 rallys outright in 1999, Spain and Corsica, with French driver Philippe Bugalski at the wheel. The F2 class was replaced by the 4wd, but still naturally aspirated Super 2000 cars.

j'ai quand même l'impression en voyant la et loeb il y a un petit moment qu'elles bougent moins qu'à l'époque dans les années 90 avec les frères Panizzi ou Delecour, ça bondissait dans tout les sens

@@Buena25 y'a eu du progrès en matière d'amortisseurs depuis :). Gilles Panizzi expliquait que la 306Maxi de Loeb (il en a 2) était bien plus performante que celle qu'il avait en championnat de France à l'époque
