I can’t believe in this movie Venelope went Turbo like the whole first movie was about how game hopping was bad and Ralph was a bad guy for wanting more out of his game, but when Venelope wants more out of her game and decides to leave it’s just fine it’s like the whole first movie didn’t even happen

Vanelloppe was so selfish! Quiting her game, abandoning her responsabilities as princess AND the players who loved her was so cruel! She did all this just to stay with a stranger. All she knows about Shank is that she's cool and have a pretty car, that's it! Yeah she helped them but this character was still a stranger. The kid trusted this lady and leave her best friend, that's sad! I didn't like her decisions in this movie especially her going Turbo and nobody reacted to this. I guess they forgot it was a bad thing 🤔🤨 Ralph too was selfish! He put a virus in a game who almost KILLED innocents characters and destroys the internet to keep one friend. That made sense for him apparently! Not building houses for the racers like he did for Qubert in the first movie, this was not important. Keeping his relation with Vaneloppe yes but his others friends? Who cares!

Most of the reactions I see people just say Ralph is the one being bad or out of character but vanellope was also being that way ( Ralph definitely going to far tho ) but vanellope definitely does play a part in the problem It's sad because showing Ralph insecurities about losing vanellope would have been really interesting if done RIGHT since she was his first friend and the first person to truly be kind to him before her he didn't have anything and lived in the garbage so I get his insecurities but what they do to his character in this movie is just ridiculous and the fact that they just throw all the conflicts in the first movie away just to make this work ,1 Ralph leaving and no one was there to wrack in his game so they got shut down , 2 going into someone else's game just because you don't like your own was considered going turbo and one of the worst things that a character could do , Which both of those things are done and just brushed off as nothing

What's really wrong here is the reason behind Ralph's actions. It's not okay for Vanellope to go turbo, but the film just makes it out as if Ralph is wanting to keep her all to himself and to stop her from following her dreams instead of him just trying to stop her from going turbo. It's still not okay for Ralph to release the virus into the game because he almost killed Vanellope and everything in it. Vanellope is just as at fault for going turbo, but the film makes it out as if she's just following her dreams, disregarding the fact that she put her entire game and the people that live there in danger. They're both terrible people who caused harm to the people they care about by following their own selfish, thoughtless impulses. Even if Ralph apologized for his clingy actions, he still is a crappy person for allowing his friend to go turbo and put her game and people in danger.

"no she's been brainwashed, that's what this is" that's the moment where Ralph's character was assassinated because at this point this is when Ralph becomes inmature and Vanellope not completely mature, is now making decisions for herself and Ralph doesn't want that, also in a way Vanellope went Turbo so that also just destroyed what the first movie set up as they treated going Turbo as like the ultimate taboo to never do in the game world but she did it anyway, 'sigh' this sequel had so much potential and the disney princess scene was pretty much Disney saying "yeah our legacy is amazing, but let's just make fun of the tropes like it's cool and let's have Rapunzel make a joke that makes Eugene's efforts not cool"

My favorite part of this movie was when the producers looked directly at the 4th wall and said "It's character assassin' time!" and then proceeded to assassinate every established character from the first movie and make them worse versions of themselves for absolutely no reason. 2:27 This is the ONLY joke that made me chuckle in the entire movie *because* it's *only* a joke that kids who had grandparents who had blood pressure machines would get. Long story short, they were fun to play with when we were kids.

Your analysis was correct. This film is so much weaker than the first one. The Disney gags and Easter eggs are fun, but you can't make a great movie out of isolated gags and Easter eggs. But it is always so fun to watch a KZbinr react to a movie about KZbinrs, especially when they recognize the meta aspect of it all, as you did.

Aw, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. This is my personal favorite movie that Disney Animation has made. Every part of Ralph's story hit me like a truck because I used to be the "toxic" friend who only wanted things to stay the same and never change, but like him I realized that sometimes growing up means you don't always stay the way you were. Also, the credit song was written specifically for the movie about Ralph.

I completely get what you mean. I loved the message of the movie because i also had that same problem as a kid and I had to grow up and learn the lesson that Ralph did. I used to be so confused on why people hated it as much as they did until I saw a very detailed analysis on KZbin explaining why and all the points people have made against it, and found they are reasonable. I stand by still that this movie has good lessons and while I still don’t think it’s terrible, I have to agree Disney messed up on using wreck it Ralph to be the one to teach this lesson, because these characters were written differently in the first movie, so it didn’t feel like a continuation. As a stand-alone movie it’s not bad at all, but as a sequel, it was a big mistake in the writing department.

I like the message too, but I think it doesn't make sense in the sequel because in the original Ralph was insecure of not being the hero since people belittled him. And at the end of the movie, he already learned to take care of that insecurity without even being as in the face as the sequel. The sequel could work if it wasn't a sequel and better if it was like a friend group of people at the same age. Plus, this movie breaks the universe of the first film, like Vanellope going turbo but she doesn't face any sequences.

I agree this is not as good as the first, but I still liked it, especially since I happened to be in the same boat as Ralph at the time this film came out, I too was a clingy friend, therefore this movie (especially Ralph's confrontation towards himself in the end) helped me realize what I was doing wrong and move on. And ironically, I did enjoy this reaction for the most part, but that gigantic slam towards Ralph in the end kinda ruined it for me, Lol.

That's the point? The stories are written that way, they're written so that it seems like women need to be saved by strong man even though in reality they statistically do more harm than protection. Stories for girls are about getting saved and married to a man while stories for boys are about men going on adventures and owning their life.

Of course not, the girls dreamed of princesses and knights, I'm not saying this was always the case neither am i saying this is the case today, but back in the day? That was all they knew and wanted in 99% of the cases, if no girls liked the story, it would have been a commercial failure, but what do you see today? Ah yes, what fans consider one of the worst sequels DIsney ever made. A sentiment I can't say I disagree with. The Princess crossover scene is pretty cool though, except for the lack of Kida from Atlantis. Where the fuck is she!!?? I absolutely hate that remark Rapunzel made about how everyone assumes that their lives got better because a big strong man showed up and Vanellopee agrees that there's no reason for that, when that's exactly what happened for most, if not all of those princesses. Its not just character assassination for Ralph and Vanellopee, its the death of the quality of Disney films in exchange for values and virtues that are either horrible or are only held by a minority of people, making each and every Disney movie after this one lose more and more money till Strange World, which lost the most money out of any movie in 2022. You can tell whomever wrote this movie changed Ralph and Vanellopee's characters to fit the story they wanted to tell that clearly doesnt fit with them. They also thought Vanellopee was in the right and mase sure that Ralph would make the worst possible choices so that Vanellopee would be seen as more right. The Ralph and Vanellopee of the sequel are completely different people from the first film. It feels like whomever wrote for this movie skimmed through the first in a hurry.

The best part of this movie was the Disney Princess scenes, which seems to be a common opinion from the comments. The Ralph Rick Roll bit made me laugh, but I always find those funny. It's probably because I was too young to be on the internet when Rick Rolling was a big thing. But for me, and my sick sense of humor, this movie went from 2/10 to 4/10 with the bunny exploding and traumatizing the kid in the car end scene. That made me laugh way too hard the first time I saw it.

Ah, I said that this film is not recommended...🤦‍♀️ Honestly, I've rarely been so disappointed with a Disney sequel. Yes, the disney toon’s sequels are not masterpieces compared to their elders, but they tried to keep a minimum of connection with them. Here it seems that nothing of the first has been retained. Felix and Calhoun are seen only at the beginning and at the end (while we alternated scenes with them in the previous installment, some jokes are too childish, but the worst is protagonists’s treatement . Vanellope doesn't care at all of her game after she decides to stay in the Internet, which makes her selfish. Well, expanding her desires is one thing but it's far too far from her dream of racing the first game. And Ralph isn't better... Whereas in the first, we had a Ralph in a crisis over his role and learning to accept it in a touching way, here we have a kid who thinks that everything is due to him and doesn't hesitate to put the lives of others in danger just to stay with her best friend. The character has undergone a development that completely disappointed me and makes watching it particularly irritating.😤 Well I criticize, but the film still has qualities. The animation is very well done, the sets are varied, and we have new colorful characters (I particularly like Shanks and the KZbin girl). I also like the Disney references, especially the princess scene. And even if it is due to the treatment of our "heroes", the morale is not bad. A distance between two friends does not mean the end, and that they can always keep this bond woven but differently So in short, despite my critic, Ralph breaks the Internet remains a watchable film, but does not deserve to be a sequel

✋😜🤚 People have a tendency to rag on this film for the exact same reason they don't like "The Emoji Movie." It's essentially nearly two hours of product placement. That aspect doesn't really bother me much as both films are among other things, supposed to be a satire about all the unwanted bloatware that comes with both laptops and smartphones. This might not be Disney's best, but I don't think it's the complete waste of time that others do. It's not so much the overall plot that's entertaining as it is a lot of comical individual moments. Like the fact that Shank's singing voice does not even remotely resemble her speaking voice (no Israeli accent). Or the fact that half of the Disney princesses were originally drawn, and in CGI form, they don't quite resemble the familiar two-dimensional versions (especially Cinderella). Anyhow, as sequels go, I found it a lot more watchable than "Rio 2."

I’m sorry you made the mistake of even considering watching this movie, let alone actually doing it. I’m convinced that someone at Disney wrote a fan-fiction of the Disney princesses hanging out, and Disney was like “Brilliant! We have to put that in a movie! But not in it’s own original property no! Reposted my comment because KZbin removed it for some weird reason: Ralph Breaks The Internet was very disappointing. The humor fell flat, the character development from the first movie is lost here, and this has one of the worst scenes in any Disney movie ever. The BuzzTube scene. That scene alone will make this movie very dated very fast. They even managed to make Ralph unlikeable. The guy they went out of their way in the first movie to tell us he’s not a bad guy. He does the most unforgivable thing at one point and it just ruined his entire character. Objectively not as good as the first film.
