I think she wanted to assert her authority to Harry. When Harry phoned the hotel earlier in the film, he presumably doesn't give her much chance to speak, and one of the things he says is "why doesn't this hotel have phones with fucking voice mail and not I have to leave messages with the fucking receptionist?" At the bottom of the transcription of the message, Marie makes a note to Ray and Ken that she is in fact the co-owner with her husband, not the receptionist. She is proud of this fact, and in light of Harry's earlier insult she decides to take a stand (I think she believes him when he stresses that he won't harm a pregnant woman).
