Interesting that there is not a regular service interval for this MAP sensor. Is there a reason why the MAP sensor might get dirty in some vehicles faster than others? Could this indicate the vehicle is consuming oil at a high rate?

Well depending where the map sensor is located. The egr causes alot of issues on these trucks. Def clean it yearly

So my Jeep Wrangler was at the dealer for 5 weeks before they discovered that the reason why the CEL was on and it ran like crap was because the MAP sensor was covered in dirt. They blamed my after market K&N air filter but based on this video and some others I think this exhaust gasses. Anyway your video helped my understanding of what it does and how I can maintain it in the future Thanks

I clean mine like every 30,000 km. Mind you I don't get any soot pumped back into the Intake so it's cleaner

Wholly clean MAP sensor! After just one year mine is coated with carbon.

yes lots of dirty air passes by the map. I would install an oil catch can. I dont even bother cleaning mine anymore. once every year or two lol.

Hello, I also have the ecodiesel JGC but I don't have the torque tool and torq tools are expensive. Any other alternative tools you can suggest? Also is there any alternatives to the branded spray? Thank you!

These bolts don't take hardly any torque. Carb cleaner works good

Thanks for the video, I have a quick question what is the size of the MAP sensor screw with the T4 head? I bought my truck used and it seems that the head is mangled and I dont want to remove it until I can replace it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The stelership wants $700 to replace my air filter and clean the mass airflow sensor. I told them no thank you, I will do it myself I'll get some CSC Mass air flow sensor sprayand clean it my self and replace my air filter myself. Of course they want $179.99 for a diagnostic fee. Guess I can't get around that. What a total rip off, they should be ashamed of themselves. Literally less than 10 to 15 minutes worth of work.

Yeah I paid their $189 diagnostic fee Drove it home and now I pulled out my diffuser and cleaned it, my map sensor, and my mass airflow sensor put a new air filter and will see how things go. Literally 30 bucks will take care of the problem if this fixes it.

I used an ECU tune from Celtic here in Ontario. Not sure if its available anymore. There are custom tuners around kijiji.

I could really use some advice, my 17 eco diesel 4x4 with 392 gearing is getting roughly 18 mpg on the highway. it has about 25000 miles on it. I bought it used about a week ago from the dealer. I have no idea whats going on.

Ok so that's 13L/100k here in Canada and I usually see 8L/100k on the highway doing about 110 kmph ( 68mph). Is this on ethe highway or on the city. You also have a beefier rear end as I only have 3.55 which typically yields better mpg but not that much. You could tune it if your comfortable. There are tunes that keep the emissions intact for warranty and offer better HP and MPG. If you have issues you can remove it and get warranty work done.

I just did this now my truck is giving me a electronic throttle control service code. And is running like shit, I ended up replacing the old map sensor with a new one and still running rough with a check engine light. Anyone know what could cause this?

if I'm not mistaken the electronic throttle control code is related to the wiring under the drivers seat. There is more info on Google about that code. I've never heard of it being linked to map sensor as map has to do with airflow. Check the big plug under the drivers seat (like under the truck it's a big wiring harness)
