"remove the fill cap before the drain cap" best solid advice anyone can ever be told. I made that mistake on my motorcycle. I drained the primary fluid before I took of the derby cover and i accidently stripped the allen screw and i wasn't able to take it off. I had to get a dremel and make a notch to unscrew it.

I found that warming the bags in a pot of warm water makes the fluid fill faster. ( don’t boil it )😊

If you look up specs for differential fluids for Ram trucks, the only one that is OEM 75-140 weight is 3.92 limited slip. You can put in the 140 in any differential but not needed.

I just crawled under my 2016 ram 1500 4x4. Both front and rear diffs are 3.21 gear ratio. I looked up online that they both take 75w90.

That front fluid looked good still.

What about that little rubber piece on the diff pan
@ZeesneakyninjaАй бұрын
You lsd test doesn’t really work for rams anti-slip diffs. I have the lsd(anti-slip) it turns like an open diff on the lift. It only acts as an lsd when there is a load applied, because it has no pre load springs.

Wouldn't your truck just have traction control button inside the cab to turn it off ?

@@rudijones I have a "Service 4WD" light on in my vehicle. Hopefully changing the fluids will take care of it.... your video really helps to do the oil change without a lot of research time....

For rear axle with 3.55 ratio like on Ram 2012 4.7L 4WD 75w90 going to both REAR and FRONT axle for NON LSD or so called Conventional Axle

What is the difference between me using full synthetic vs synthetic? You would imagine you would only want full right?
@rudijones Жыл бұрын
Honestly probably not a huge difference. More marketing hype. If it’s the right viscosity it will work. It’s a fluid that doesn’t get changed very frequently so I can justify the higher price for full synthetic but that’s just me. Thanks for watching.

It seems to have the HEMI badge, but other than that the 5.7 and the 4.7 I'm sure they are the same truck.

ALWAYS change your o-rings/gaskets. Never reuse. Even if its new and you just torqued it down.
