I think you also have to look at application if you are on a farm and have 10-20 acres of property to transverse you may want that 2500, whereas the 1500 can be more urban friendly, while allowing you to make those trips up to the country.

The in depth talk and the comparison at the end is what I have been looking for, for so long in my 2 year search for the right truck. Now at 1:15 when you (first time ive ever seen) called a manufacturer out on their numbers, I was in awe. This is the kind of information that people need to see. I'd pick the rebel diesel. It can do 90% of what the power wagon can but you get better interior comfort, on road comfort, better payload and much much more fuel efficient. It is nice that ram finally paired a decent transmission to the 6.4 - it needed it badly!

GREAT comparison between the two! Have not had a truck in years. I n the market now for a new truck. Decided on a ram. Tough choice between the rebel and power wagon. Decided on the power wagon. When optioned out in my case not that more expensive then a rebel plus easier to access my favorite hunting and fishing areas with the power wagon's better off road ability then the rebel in rough country! Just feedback on one of your points in the video. I had a Rebel with the same flooring as the Power Wagon here. The same folding flat platform with floor-mounted bins (no speakers). That's not specific to the 2500, it just depends on the options you buy in the truck. The 2500 series also come with the same floor as in your Rebel, again, depends on options. After buying my Rebel, I often longed for a PW myself. Now I have the 2019 2500. It is MUCH more capable on and off-road, and as a daily driver, it's almost as smooth a ride as the 1500. A bit more bed space, plus when hauling and towing similar loads, the 2500 does it better, and can do a lot more in a pinch.

I almost bought a power wagon. The only thing that stopped me was it got worst gas mileage then my old Truck. I heard that the mileage the power wagon can get is around 10 miles a gallon. So, I got a 2500 4x4 with the Cummins. And can still get 20mpg on the highway.

I guess because of the narrower focus of the Power Wagon, that's the reason the low availability. Before I got my 2019 PW, I searched 250 mile radius ( houston, dallas). 14 new Power Wagons are all that came up. My local dealership rarely carries more than two a year but when he gets them, no one knows.

No.
@4x4erik3 жыл бұрын
@@starmc26 Yes. Also a gen 4 Rebel can fit 35's factory, with no rub in any mode (air suspension) with stock wheels. A Rebel on 35s w/a small lift narrows the off-road performance gap even more. Also, the difference will only be in EXTREME off-road situations. Rebels can perform 95% of the off-road situations the standard owner of a Power Wagon will encounter or subject themselves/their truck to. Ask me how I know.

Had two Power Wagon's, Now 2019 Rebel. Have Four Wheel Hawk Camper, had it on a 2016 Power Wagon, got a great buy on 2019 Ram Rebel Quad Cab, Rebel rides much better on highway and around town, with shorter wheel base of Quad cab is easier to park and drive off road. The rear differential on Power wagon has less clearance then the Rebel. Rebel gets about 3 mpg better than the Power Wagon around town, Rebel with less weight is much faster then Power Wagon. Loved my Power Wagon, but do not miss it at all, as I actually enjoy driving my Rebel around town with camper on it. I had to put air bags on the Power Wagon because of the weight of the FourWheel Hawk camper, with the 2019 Rebel I installed Timblem's, they just take the place of bump stops, and help support the weight of camper! Trouble with air bags, is getting them adjusted right, and they leak air.

@jerrypierson34505 жыл бұрын
@@alpine9996 Quad Cab wheelbase is 140.5 inch, Crew Cab wheelbase is 144.6 inch. The shorter the wheelbase the more maneuverable the truck is. Quote from Fourwheeler magazine "The selectable rear locker and coil-spring suspension combined with the short wheelbase of the Quad Cab helped make the Ram Rebel the most capable truck we tested in nearly every terrain." I used to think the same way you do, but when I found out that the Quad Cab had shorter wheelbase I was sold!

I think Ram missed the mark when they kept the old interior in the new 2500. If I could get a Laramie interior (5 seat) on a PW, there would be no choice left to make. If the Laramie interior was available on the Rebel with the Ecodiesel, I would really have a hard choice to make.
@butchgamer935 жыл бұрын
It is the new interior? It has a floor mounted shifter for 4x4 that's why you can't get the console..
@toddgibbs13215 жыл бұрын
The 2500 crew cab is the same configuration as the 4th gen. The 1500 crew cab is bigger. I understand that the floor shifter is the reason you can’t get the 5 passenger configuration. I just am not sure the floor shifter adds much real benefit. The lockers and transmission are electronic. The other 4wds are all push button.

You're right! Anybody who has ever done off roading knows all too well that it is brutal on milage. Specially the slow almost crawling stuff. 6-7 mpg is seen all too often. The king of milage would probably be a ZR2 with the Duramax, but the Rebel with the Ecodiesel would be close and much more comfortable. I won't argue the ZR2 would be more capable but I'm no longer into maximum off roading ability so the Rebel would be sufficient. Of course when the Gladiator gets the Ecodiesel, all bets are off.
@MikeWolff15 жыл бұрын
@@denisleblanc4506the Gladiator will be amazing with a diesel the only problem is that Jeep seriously just might have priced themselves out of the market. I don't care what anyone says because when they first came out dealers had been marking them up so far it scared people away and bought something else now you have them sitting on lots everywhere!! It's a touchy thing bringing a new product to market and if you let dealers play games you end up loosing lots in the end!! To be honest 60k for a little truck is stupid especially in a economy where the dollar is so strong everywhere in the world!! I think they are 10k to high on price across the board!!!
