Sorry it's a bit boring, but didn't want to leave anything out. When I was researching exhausts there wasn't much about this one so wanted to put as complete a comparison as I could.

Tip for people looking: If you want the outlaw catback system without paying the $850+ you're going pay for it. Go to a muffler shop. Get the install there with a Flowmaster super 10, ask the shop to delete the stock resonators then add tips if you want (probably save $90 if you don't). At most shops this should be under $600,. You save $$, you get it professionally installed and fitted plus (and this important) you get it all welded. With the kits you have to go through 3 or more heat cycles and re-tightening of the clamps.

$75 for the Super 10, $100 to have it welded on. Maybe another $75 to have the resonators chopped off. If you paid $600 for that, your muffler shop is screwing you.

Best video I've come across so far for an exhaust system. Flow Master should send you a commission cause I'm sold at this point. I had seen other videos mention an "aggressive" sound in the cab or slight drone, but nothing empirical. From what I could tell in this video there is a slight noise from the exhaust in the cab, but it doesnt seem unbearable or annoying, definitely quieter in the cab than the Cummins with straight pipes I rode around in as a kid and teenager

I just got a flowmaster system on my ram last week... I kept the stock tips tho, but I'm going to change that as soon as I find some nice tips.. It sounds good as hell 0-30 mph lol and then I pulled a 20 ft trailer with three zero turn 72 inch cub cadet commercial mowers and omg it sounds so good 😩

Appreciate the comment. I'm sure if you own the 5.7L Tundra, it will have a similar sound. Maybe a slightly different tone, but for sure it will be loud and aggressive. If that's what you're looking for that is why you'll get.

+Kevin McKinney I did the install myself. There wasn't any benefit to having someone else install it like any guarantee or something. A couple roll up lifts is all you need. Pretty simple install. Give yourself lots of time though when setting up the position of he tips though, that's what people see so you want it to be perfect.

I got the same muffler, if your looking for that sound the outlaw muffler does it, it's the best sounding muffler for a 5.7. I work 3rd shift so I kept the factory resonators on it so it keeps it quiet when going to work at 3am but it growls when ya step on it!

Thanks for the vid. At 3:22 I see you place your hand on the steering wheel button after you let off the gas. Were you turning of MDS to prevent drone? How is the drone on the outlaw?

Would like to hear the drone answer as well. Technically, you're not hearing "Drone" when the MDS kicks in but a 4 cylinder exhaust note which sounds like a souped up lawnmower in a can. I always drive in D8 to keep it off until I can afford the PCM swap and custom tune.

Sorry for the suuuuper slow response. I was turning on the Cruise control I believe as I was getting on a stretch of highway that always had police with radar. The 4 cylinder drone can in fact be annoying but as Tyler Jarrard mentioned, there are work around for this. Tow Haul mode prevents the MDS as well.

In the name of your video it says outlaw and super 10. Those are two separate exhaust mufflers from flowmaster. Curious if that was a typo or whomever sold you the muffler was messing with you...

I got a 2500 6.4 I want to do this and take of the cats and put one high flow cat I just added a intake and chip. Going be installed a supercharger kit in a few weeks. I got around 440hp stock they said at the supercharger and headers with high tune will get me at 580s and with a exughust system maybe 600hp that's good enough for me.

Would you be able to make another video of you cruising at 65-75, so we can get an idea of the drone that occurs. Obviously you would not be able make a whole new comparison video, but if you had some extra footage that you could strap together, that would greatly help. I am thinking of buying this system, but that is my only concern.

I certainly would however I'm extremely busy with work these days and it has me away from my truck. If I do a video it probably wouldn't be until the end of April. Sorry I couldn't help out more right away. Honestly though the drone is not noticeable to me when I have my music playing at a 15 setting. If you listen to classical it could be annoying but something tells me people buying this exhaust aren't the Beethoven kind of people anyway. If I do a video though I'll link it here.

I bought the super 10s but haven’t installed them . I have a stock night edition single cab and want a louder noise but I’m worried the super 10 will be too loud and obnoxious so I might trade them in for the super 44s. any advice ?

As in previous responses. There is a drone, but I keep my music on volume 15 which isn't too loud at all and I don't notice it. I just drove 36 hours across the country and it didn't bother me for a second. It's all personal preference. If you don't want a drone, don't get an aggressive exhaust.

you know the outlaw is a completely different "muffler" from the 10 series. the 10 series is a single chambered muffler and the outlaw is straight through design. sounds good by the way.

That doesn't sound right to me. You might be thinking of the pro series outlaws, those are for sure straight through. The outlaw catback system for street vehicles comes with a super 10 + the rest of the pipe all the way to tips with the idea being simple removal of the stock resonators. Just checked the Flowmaster video again and is for sure a super 10.

Nope. The burden is on the car manufacturer to prove that the modification to the car is what caused the defect. A muffler (and the 2HP it adds) shouldn't affect anything.

i have the same setup but do you get like a humming noise when your rpm's drop like driving at a steady speed limit and the exhaust would have a humming sound a then start to crawl

There is a hum that occurs. I believe it's from the MDS kicking in and shutting down to 4 cylinders. You can make it stop if you want by just hitting the minus button to limit the gear. The inhibits the MSD system. However I like the little bit of drone at the slower cruise speeds. Hope this helps.

Hey I just bought the outlaw exhaust for my 2016 ram (817690). I have some questions for you. Im assuming you got rid of the resonators? Do you know what the db level is at idle or at any point while driving? Im from Pennsylvania, USA and was worried that it may be too loud come inspection/emission time?any thoughts? im assuming you still love it!

I don't know what the dB rating is at idle sorry. All I know is the 82dB at 3000 RPM number. Yes I did lose the resonators. And yes I still love it. I'm moving from Alberta to Ontario next month. I'm hoping it's not too much of an issue for me. Hopefully not for you either. Enjoy!

Installed the Super 10 on my '14 Bighorn 4x4 yesterday. Replaced the 18" Magnaflow that was on it. SI/DO. Had it dumped before the real axle. Sounds nasty. Can't comment on many of the droning comments, or how it is on long trips...I only drive it once or twice a week. Glad I made the swap though.

+John Cook good point. I drove mine from Edmonton Alberta, to Toronto Ontario. That's roughly 3500 miles over 3 days. And I loved every minute of it. Long story short. If you want a subdued sound, don't get this exhaust. If you don't mind it loud, or WANT it loud. Get it!

Drivers with their heads buried in their phones kill more people every year than alcohol + drugs combined. Driving down the street or highway, hopefully getting the attention of the inattentive driver next to or near me, to prevent harm of those that rely on me, well then, this is the exhaust for me. I've said it for years. Loud exhaust can save lives.

There is definitely a drone when the MDS kicks in. I like it because it makes it sound so much different than any other exhaust I've ever heard. If it bothers you, you can just put it in tow/haul and it prevents that from happening. As for your wife, depends on how cool she is lol. For the most part though, when you aren't flooring it the sound levels are liveable for sure. Conversations aren't an issue. I drove from Edmonton, Alberta to Toronto, Ontario with it and it didn't bother me for a second.

You can definitely hear a difference. It gets a lower tone and rumbles more. I personally like it, however I know others who don't like it. It's all personal preference.

There isn't so much drone at highway speeds, especially when under a load I'd say. But no trailer and city/highway driving there definitely is a drone. So if you don't like the drone I'd definitely avoid this exhaust.

Nothing noticeable with fuel mileage I wouldn't say. But there is a slight increase in power for sure. Couldn't tell ya for certain a number though.
