Thanks for the demo! The sway bar disconnect also provides a MUCH more comfortable ride off-road. The truck is significantly less rigid when disconnected and you drive over rocks/bumps. It automatically reconnects at 18mph for “safety.”

all about the safety! But yes I could imagine the ride quality improving alot off road

Good explanation with the prop. I ordered a PW about a month ago. I've watched a lot of videos on the PW including most of yours, but I haven't seen any showing the difference between connected and disconnected. I thought it would have been much more than a inch. I was also surprise how much flex there was with the sway bar connected. Thanks for showing.
@GettysGarage2 жыл бұрын
Ya I was surprised also it was only an inch. But it could of been the way I was testing and maybe when the wheels are rolling there is more of a difference.

Love your videos, I have my 22 PW on order, should get it in the next month. But, I had to laugh at the stereotype...the canuck with a hockey stick in the bed of his truck, lol. Keep up the good work!

lol I mean I play hockey and I just keep the stick back there sometimes haha

As a 2021 PowerWagon owner that has a full Carli Pintop suspension replacement with Carli Radius arms, the disconnecting swaybar still works. I found the trick (for mine anyway) when I need to disconnect the swaybar, I put solid pressure on the brakes, sake with reconnect and it seems to help. I usually let the speed detector reconnect it at 15MPH by itself anyway. Even with all new suspension and 37's, it still works just fine.

I always look forward to your videos. The description of the sway bar and more to the point how the disconnect works was fascinating. I did have a question for you. If I recall correctly, your truck has the 12" infotainment center. Have you had any issues with it? I've heard some horror stories that it has been/can be very problematic.
@GettysGarage2 жыл бұрын
Actually yes. Well sorta. So when I first got the truck in the winter sometimes it would not work or freeze. And i had a couple days where it wouldn't even turn on. Booked a spot at the dealership and then the infotainment worked again. Since that point I havent had an issue. Its been probably 4 months. Like you it does make me nervous a little because they are like 11k canadian to replace and warranty for those is only 60,000km

I am watching all your videos and I havent found anywhere such a profesional answer. So really thanks a lot, yours videos are so usefull for me to decide betwen 1500 vs 2500… I have one more important question. If i buy 1500 with the air gear… However I am planing to do a 6 inch spring lift.. but I dont want the air anymore so the truck doesnt go up and down with the gear… is it possible to take away the air lift system and put there a hard springs? Wont there be problem?

Great test! My take is that the extra cost and complexity of the sway bar disconnect mechanism is not worth it in this particular vehicle. This is a big boy and narrow, rocky trails are not its forte. The suspension is excellent as is.
@IFHSP22 жыл бұрын
As a PW owner myself, I was hoping to see a little more articulation with them disconnected. Do you see this as the control arm bushings are limiting the flex?

What's your professional opinion about adding a plow to a PW? I am assuming, without even mentioning the front suspension, the sway bar is not strong enough to plow???
@GettysGarage2 жыл бұрын
not really the sway bar, it would be the articulink lower control arms on the front axle that would concern me. But people put plows on 1500's all the time and the Power Wagon front end is a hell of a lot stronger then a ram 1500. if you are aren't using the plow for commercial use I'm sure you'll be fine.

@@GettysGarage airbag can deploy any time if it sense that that car is almost flip over. I saw a 1500 5.7 RAM 2019 that car was off Roding and it approache a slope 45° or so, the Curtain airbag deployed, so sensor could go wrong in such a situation

@@GettysGarage I noticed alot of comments from people who have powerwagons and not sure the mechanics of the truck, your doing a good job explaining and giving video examples… I see you touched on everything except the winch? Do I see a in-depth winch video in the future?Lots of people don’t realize the 12k/lbs pulling power is on the first layer when you pay out all the rope and your only getting 7300lbs on the 4th layer. How snatch blocks can double your power? maybe how to rig a snatch block I see lots of busses you can be pulling around in your video lol just an idea to keep the content going on your channel
