My Ford F350 has the engine break on it, and I don’t have to use the breaks as much going downhill. Fun to drive.

I was really surprised to hear you talk about the exhaust brake. I had an 07 f250 and 07 ram dually, both Diesel's. And the 6 litre had a much better engine braking system. I ended up selling the Ford because of not using it, but it managed the engine so much better. Anyways thanks for the videos! I know I'm late commenting on this lol. Oh and I love your 350... It's a beautiful truck

I wonder if the transmission has had time to fine tune its shifting. I've never owned a new vehicle so I dont know how long it takes. I do know that when I tuned my truck (2005 F250) and returned it to stock the transmission had to do a relearn cycle and it kinda shifted like that for a little bit until it got back in the groove of things. Just a thought

Hey ! I need some help and advice if you see this ! So I have a 7.3 diesel and I was wondering “it’s cold in Washington state but I’m from Texas” when I start her up how long should I wait to drive her ? Should I wait for her to warm up to the quarter mark of the temp gauge ? Or half way between the “C” and the quarter mark ? I usually wait for it to get half way between the “C” and the quarter mark but I don’t gun it I just cruise . But how long do you wait to warm her up and I love your videos ! Also should I let the truck idle before I turn her off so the turbo can cool down or should I treat her like a regular vehicle and turn her off ?
@THUNDERstroke735 жыл бұрын
Depends how cold it gets. Defiantly best to plug in during the winter. If plugged in, I idle 5 minutes and then head out. If not plugged in I usually idle 10 minutes. The truck has a natural high idle that will kick on if it's a Super Duty. As far as cool down, if it's just regular driving, I idle maybe 10-15 seconds. If I've been towing, I don't hardly shut it off. But when I do, I give a couple minutes to let things simmer back down.

Wait so when you don’t plug her do you wait 10 /15 min then drive but do you wait for your 7.3 to get above C or do you just wait 10/15 min in general? I was just wondering this because I don’t want to crack my block or blow a head or fuck up an injector. Thanks for the feed back. 7.3forlife !

The Aisin with tow haul on locks up the converter in 3rd and it stays locked and wont come out till the bottom of 2nd coming back down. so when you shift i drops a lot of rpm .

Thanks for the input

holybuba Ford 6R140 locks its torque converter in 2nd or 3rd too n doesn’t do that shift flare stuff but it’s a much more computerized fine tune transmission too
@holybuba5 жыл бұрын
@@lw6735 it could be the defueling between shifts.
@lw67355 жыл бұрын
holybuba Ya I don’t know for sure. What I do know is the Aisin transmission is not tuneable like the Torqshift and Allison and even the 68rfe (a much weaker built transmission but much more computerized and tuneable like Allison and Torqshift) So if you tune the Cummins engine for more power you can’t turn up the line pressure on the Aisin to cope with the extra power like you can the others even though it’s a very reliable transmission in stock engine transmission form
@holybuba5 жыл бұрын
@@lw6735 the line pressure in the Aisin is already higher then an tuned 68 or torqshift . thats why they defuel between shifts. if you tried to change gears with 250 pis you would burn up the clutch packs

Which truck has the softer suspension? The ram of your ford? I like feel like l'm driving on a cloud with no bumps.
@THUNDERstroke735 жыл бұрын
The answer is Chevy haha My Ford handles the bumps better when loaded. Unloaded it's a close call but probably the RAM since its single wheel

Yeah the Ford has more power probably due to the ram having 3.42 gears
