How did this motor do ?

Just curious, why does everyone say 7.3s lose speed when towing and going uphill? I've owned 2 of them, a '99 and '02 and towed with both. I've always been impressed with how perfectly they maintain speed and power, even while in cruise control. Am I missing something, or have I just been lucky?

I was so embarrassed for people to ride with me or take a phone call for the past year and a half. I could not stop the warning chime at all!!!! I replaced the alternator 4 times but this is really all I needed to do!!!!! Thanks a ton

You skipped the part where you remove & replace the shifter CABLE . Getting that cable (mine needed replacing) to seat in the bracket with absolutely zero room under the dash because it's right next to the wiring bundle is a b#*ch !

Im thinking of starting with a decent manual f550 7.3 for shits and grins. and still, exactly what you said is what i expect. weekly repairs. But id add build/prep preventataive style before towing. guages/filters/trans cooler. Just not sure how to get started.

Do you know if I can make the extended cab into a sleeper for hot shot or would I need a crew cab for a sleeper?

Are the 4 pedestal bolts mounting it to the engine all 10mm and the same length? Mine were stripped from multiple tries and buying new ones at the hardware store here in the near future.

Is there a limit to how many times you can do this does anybody know? I just got the truck back from the shop. My speed is limited to 80 miles an hour in a can’t get the seatbelt chime to turn on. A red light came on after three plug-ins plugged it in the fourth time and it flashed but the damn train keeps going off.

hey buddy thanks for the video i broke mine recently and found your video and repaired mine. that part now works and all but now when i start mine i shift into any gear and the rpm does not change and now the tranny will not shift gears, did i pop a fuse or sensor of some kind while doing this repair?
