What a blessing to have this youthful, bubbling talk! One thing I wanted to comment on: he states that once he had one psychedelic experience, all these other paths to transcendence, from dance to macrobiotic diet to meditation, were easy. I think that’s because it’s the order that it happened for him. For me, meditation came first, and then all the others were easy.

Saw him next as he lived several years in Northampton, Mass area where I was teaching. As Director of Counseling at Colorado State University, I invited him to do workshops which, of course, were most impactful. After his stroke, I read the inspiring STILL HERE, a wonderful book as he prepared for the end of life. When someone asks "How are you doing, Allen?" I always reply STILL HERE. I shall always hold him and his PRESENCE in my heart. (Allen Ivey)

Ram Dass has been deceiving people for decades. He is a Jew who has rejected Jesus the Messiah, and instead has gone into the idolatry of Hinduism. There is no salvation there. Only through faith in Jesus the Messiah (John 14:6), the perfect sacrifice (Isaiah 53), is one saved (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; John 3:16).

So intriguing to hear a genuine 1966 perspective on autism (unexpected for me in a Ram Dass satsang 😄). I don’t agree, because I am a child of the 1990s and have heard much of the research on mirror neurons etc… that has since been done, but it is amazing to hear firsthand. LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before."

Are shrooms bad for mild to severe anxiety,PTSD? I have so many bad memories from my past growing up,things I've seen done gone through experienced and a few movies I'll never watch nor talk about at times I get really bad flash back from them and it kicks in my anxiety bad at times,I've thought about micro dosing till I started to feel the effects kicking and stop till it ended,I've smoked green plant and meditated to the point wear my body has felt like it lifted from itself gone somewhere else,when it happened my body felt so strange afterwards but I realized I've changed afterwards and it's kinda cool,the more I listen to Allan Watts and Ram Dass the soul,body and mind are changing everyday , thinking, thought process are being more open, awaking is happening more and more.

due to the illegality, its always been hard to research these chemicals so there's no definite answer. as far as i know, with mushrooms the only interactions with anxiety or ptsd is a difficult experience or a "bad trip". I suffer from similar issues and a bad trip is exactly what I needed :)
@mettacine9 ай бұрын
IMHO, psychedelics experiences can be strongly influenced by (mind)set and setting. If that foundation is solid, then better chance for reduced anxiety. BUT, depending on the dosage, you will experience ego death. If you've never experienced it, it's like using words to describe the taste of chocolate to someone who has never had it. Once a person experiences it, then they know. So, the process of ego death can be terrifying for some people who have trauma and underlying fears. Yet, there is no stopping it and finally you learn to submit and surrender. Fighting it only makes things worse. This is exactly the same thing with life, in general. Learn to surrender to life, or hold on tight like a terrified child. Once the ego drops, THEN it can feel like the most peaceful state, more than ever experienced before or imagined. Once a person's story has fallen away, that is a taste of true freedom and peace and gratitude and love. Meeting one's True Self for a brief time. Maybe for the first time. But, the process getting there can stir up the deepest fears. In time, these fears can be seen for what they are: clinging to this world as it if it the true reality. Once a person tastes this different consciousness, their world changes permanently.
@mikebarrows83449 ай бұрын
@@mettacine That's a trip in itself,from what I learned by listening from Ram Dass your comment is on point to his. When it comes to microdosing in small quantities are the effects not as strong but enough for the body to be aware something is going on inside?
@mettacine9 ай бұрын
@@mikebarrows8344 The effects can be mild and calming, but it can also be unnerving if emotionaly triggered. It works on seratonin receptors. I would still follow a protocol of safety and learning a familiarity with it. Psychedelics also allow the brain to create new pathways and process things. As an alternative to pharma, some people have good results. Mushroom vs LSD have similar but also some different effects. It's great to see so much positive news about the benefits, but it still feels years away from being a viable legal option in most countries. It's heart breaking to hear how many people swear it saves their life...yet it's illegal.
@mettacine9 ай бұрын
@@mikebarrows8344 Yes. Even micro doses can help mood as it works on seratonin receptors, plus connets different parts of the brain. Still, it can also amplify triggered emotions. Ultra low doses can be felt and certainly more manageable, but there's always a risk for people with underlying instability. Thoughtful and compassionate self-care in a controlled safe setting I suggest would be fine for most people.

Ram Dass is still a lost soul. Instead of looking to the Messiah who died for our sins (Isaiah 53), and then rose from the dead (Psalm 16:10), he is looking to the false gods of Hinduism. Will he ever learn (2 Timothy 3:7)? Messiah Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). Jesus, God the Son (Hebrews 1:8), became a man, lived a sinless life, and then became the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Repent of your sins and unbelief and believe in the Messiah Jesus, the risen Lord. Salvation is a free gift (John 3:16, Romans 6:23; First John 5:13), received by believing in Him.
