To run nitrous safely I am a mechanic they're doing this for 30 years you need to have forged internals preferably a good forged rotating assembly..

I'll be running a 500 shot in Bradenton speedway next week on a stock hemi ram 1500 4x4 with 392 8 speed, with cold plugs, and intake and a tune until it blows up. I'll be posting videos , so we will all find out what the breaking point is. I'll start with a 100 shot and work my way up to 500 and race it all night until she blows. After that onto putting the 5.9 diesel in her and getting her up to 1100hp

First off I would like to say you have completely changed my view on nitrous with your videos. I'm 50 years old and have always frowned upon it due to the common misconception of it blowing up your motor. I have a 2018 Scatpack 392 stock with 315 Nittos on her and always run 94 octane fuel,I've been looking to get a few more horses out my my car. If I'm understanding correctly I can run a 75 shot without a tune or any mods as long as I follow the guidelines you have stated without damaging my car. Yes a 75shot is pretty conservative mix you up some 100octain fuel or get you a pail of 100octain for the track and you should be good to go on a factory tune i would also recommend atleast get 1 step colder spark plugs as well.

I have 2018 Scat . I have HP tuners ecm and has been tuned by Peitz performance. I run brisk silver racing 2 degrees cooler . Have AEM wide band that is can bus . I have cat removed and mid delete. I have A Zex kit with Nitrious outlet plate . I am doing some upgrades. I am geting a 6.1 L intake manafold that has been ported polished and cut for 90mm TB . And I will attach leg maker intake .will also be buying the pro max progressive controller. When I get intake I am sending it to nitrous outlet to have it plumbed for direct injection. Nitrous outlet says they can set it for 100- 400. My local tuner informed me that it has to flow a min of a 200 shot and to uses controller to throttle back shot ?. I have stock internals. I like direct for the precise control . I have other planes for car to do other mods like a custom cam and forged internals but not right now so the intake and nitrous will grow with me . I just dont want to damage it . Do you think direct injection can be throttled to my power level of choice. I know this was long . Just looking for some advice thanks

You can definitely do direct port for any size shot you want. But 200 is to much on your stock internals it will work ok for little while or maybe even a few bottles worth but you will definitely pop the motor and break the top of the piston eventually. I wouldn't go over 150 if you want it to last for awhile.

Just waiting for the shop to let me know when they’re available for the install. I already spoke with the the guy who’s going to do the install. He said he’s gonna start me at a 75 shot. He mentioned that would be pretty safe, but still effective. My question to you is do I still need cold plugs to go up to run 75-100 shot? I hope this is not a silly question. I'm gonna install a modest 75 to 100 shot on my 5.7 Durango. I currently run a custom 93 tune with my T3. Do I need to have a new tune installed to run NOS? That kit you have form NX doesn’t come with everything needed to be ready to roll. I understand you need purge kit, bottle heater and automatic pressure sensor, blow down tube with adapter, and some type of switch and panel. Or can I just get away with running the plate kit with a wideband gauge

Yes The kit comes with everything needed to hit the track and race. Now there is many Accessories you can add like a purge kit "not needed but does help and look sweet" switches, panels, heater,sensors, etc. But you do Not have to have it that is personal choice and preference the kit is ready for you to hook it up and use it without all the extra goodies. I myself use nothing more than what comes in that kit and a wide band gauge is all I need and care for. Oh and you will need to order a nitrous pressure gauge for the bottle I do not think they come with it if I remember I had to buy one.

You need a tune that pulls timing out for Nitrous you would be safer to run the stock tune instead of the 93 performance tune because those tunes add timing not good for Nitrous unless properly done to watch st knock and afr

100 shot is my opinion, its best for numbers and safety and still gives a decent punch. Just get a separate nitrous tune for when you want to use nitrous. It will basically be the tune you got now just with a couple degrees of timing pulled.

My idea example is this. Instead of just oh shoot woooo ok done go more like this. Start race quickly engage nos hit nos run as long as I run not just run a few feet and oh that was the shot you have to hit it again I want one pass to be as long as I have the gas down cause when I race I don’t race 1/4 miles usually I race 10 15 mile races. So I don’t want to brake the engine but I want it to last that long I’m thinking I just need bigger bottle or a few bottles but as far as the system been tuned to do this can it be done is it possible?

@@benignrabbit1882 the system has to run at the 950-1000psi range to work right. A 15lb bottle will last about about 8-10 1/4 passes on a 100 shot. So a 50shot you could probably double that.
