Im working on a 2006 ram 3500 that will start and run but I cannot get a scanner to connect to the ecm. Tried multiple different scanners. Nothing. This also is effecting the instrument cluster.

@@JaGGeR- quick check Disconnect the fan clutch connector. A fan clutch shorted can cause no communication to ECM. It’s a long shot but give it a try Also, Remove disconnect cluster and try to see if ECM talks

I have a 04.5 and just had tipm rebuilt and can't get it to communicate any suggestions? Pcm not able to communicate. Went in live data and pcm will not recognize key on or anything . Any ideas on programming it ?

What was going on before it was rebuilt ? What was the issue that you had it rebuilt?

@dieseltalkwithtonysalas8725 classic tipm issues. Horn randomly goes off, nor brights, low beams would go in and out dash light tail lights and headlights would randomly all flash like the alarm was going off . Tipm was just rebuilt and I can't get it to communicate

Does the truck actually need all these computers ?? They are a pain in the butt. Can they not simplify it a little ?? Maybe I'll by a 78 dodge with no freakin computer crap

Well you can look at it in a simple way making everything mechanical. When you have modules in a network, it saves on wiring and can be activated with an interface scan tool. But the issue is the reliability of the wiring and networks plus the program. On the engine operating side , we have common rail computer managed that can fire a fuel injector more than 3 times per each combustion event. Super fast. Allows the truck to make the horsepower and torque we see now.
