This episode had way too much for a seasonal anime, most anime waste time with staredowns and looped animation just to get to the 19-minute mark and get to the ED. But Re:Zero is here flexing 29-minute episodes with no OP or ED just pure story and characters. This episode is my favourite of part 2 just Wow. I mean, this fight alone should've been the episode but we got another 10 minutes of Roswall v.s Ram and Puck. Re:Zero is something special. Also what's left of Ram's broken horn glowing at 1:05-1:10 ! Just wow.

It’s good they put that thumbnail since many didn’t notice she used her horn. Also: 1.Some wonder why Roswall didn’t use other magic: he did in the novel. I guess with them being rushed and overworked, they couldn’t animate that. 2.He tried to stop Puck in time, but he was immune, used wind magic and homing attacks, cast 3 spells at once, nullified magic attacks by absorbing and releasing them, etc. He has a non-magic technique where he punched an ice shield, but hit Ram with the shockwave by opening his fist. 3.The reason Puck changed his size was to get him to release that massive attack and drain himself.

Nope. She is just using part that wasn't cut off. After all, her horn wasn't destroyed, it was cut off, so she still has one part of it left. And though she can't use horn properly now - she still can use small parts of true power for short amounts of time. She can remove "shackles" and use more and more percents of her true power, but the more power she uses - the less time she has until she would die to exhaustion. Without one shackle she can use horn for few minutes, Without two - only for few dozens of seconds. Currently she hasn't shown more than removing 2 shackles. First fight in anime where she removed one shackle - her fight with Garf. She removed one shackle to take speed advantage over his slow beast form. Though, she still lost when he used his human form, because he was too fast for her, as stated in WN. Also, in this fight there is example of what happens to Ram when she removes even one shackle: fatigue, serious bleeding from horn, and other recoil.

@@lightsprite6128 I would argue that Re:Zero is better than Konosuba from a critical writing standpoint, but Konosuba is mainly a comedy, and it absolutely nails the comedy, which is all that really matters for it. They're two completely different shows with completely different focuses and objectives in their storytelling, so it's not really a good comparison to begin with. Regardless, both Re:Zero and Konosuba are fantastic isekai from completely different sides of the spectrum.

Amazing how Roswaal practically drowned Ram's affection and berated it when in the meantime, he chased after a witch for 400 years who in truth.. Didn't really love him This anime is really relatable in the sense of loving someone who loves someone else.. But in both cases.. Rejection is all that waits behind the door God this anime is awesome.

Due to damage from the trial and having to maintain the weather spell, Roswaal was severely weakened. While a fight between full power Puck and Roswaal would usually end in a Puck victory, there’s still a chance for a Roswall victory. Puck is more powerful, but Roswaal has much more versatility.
