Asalamualaikum. These mistakes are something that we should all know and avoid inshallah so that our Ramadan will be accepted.
This is the second episode of the Ramadan Reflections series where I give my advise on the issues that people are struggling with this Ramadan.

Assalamualaikum Sr Nafisa, I have a tip for fasting. We have very narrow time between Magrib and Fajr (5 hours) and for those who don’t want force themselves with food I suggest smoothies (for instance mango lassi with banana)- easy to digest, can be served cold and no chewing required, best part takes few mins to drink and saves us from going to eat before Fajr out of panic.

May Allah reward you for sharing these common mistakes. As for Laylatul Qadr, I agree with you. I think it might change every year but people just assume it to be the 27th and that's that. May Allah forgive our shortcomings.

Assalamu Alaikum. Having a blood test does not negate your fast as it is drawing blood from your body but not putting anything in. I hope this is clear, insha'Allah.

Thank you by the way. This is my first Ramadan technicality. This would be the first time I fasted by choice. Tarawih prayers are awesome. You don’t have to stay for all of it. You leave when you get tired in between sets of course. You get the benefit of praying in a group. Those people who’s Arabic is limited. You can always spend the prayer thanking God. I think the reason non speaking Arabic people don’t like Tarawih because they don’t understand what the Iman is saying. That is okay. Spend that time thinking about all the blessing you have and thanking God for them. Now if you want to read Quran but your Arabic is as weak as mine. Play the Quran with the translation. So Aya 1 in Arabic and then the translation. Before you know it you will be able to read some words. The Layat el QAdr could be actually on an even night. I know people who started to fast on Wednesday instead of Thursday so if they are right and we are wrong the night could be on an even night.

trust me those who have long taraweeh, pray as much as you can. In finland during summer we had to fast once for 22h, taraweeh was like 15 min. We had 15 min to eat iftaar. You dont know how lucky you are say alhamdullilah and make use of the time you have during taraweeh.
