@@Kothwalashivakumar Stop being disingenuous. The average starting pay for tech workers in the US is not $100k. It's more like $50k for contractors. Here in the Seattle area, for jobs on site at MS, they pay just over minimum wage and no, that's not what I do or where I work. I haven't worked there in almost 2 decades but MS used to have lots of contractor roles and they used lots of H1-B visa labor. If you're going to quote mid to top pay and pretend it is a base salary, no one is going to take you seriously. Someone can easily google what roles pay and see that you're lying. Also "tech worker" is a broad range that can describe anything from help desk to data analyst to developer. Not sure why you think an IT worker would start at $100,000 right out of school because they simply don't.
@growinguniversally21615 сағат бұрын

@@growinguniversally216 🤦♀ It doesn't make pushing false facts about salary okay. If someone told you that you could make $50 an hour working in fast food, would you not point out that was fundamentally false? There are a lot of different types of IT jobs. Not all of them involve writing code. The ones where no coding is involved, pay significantly less and there is no path to a six figure salary so claiming that "people in IT make $100,000" is false. Pointing out that people in the US can just make more money is a red herring. Um thanks but not the point.

And from the outside it looks kinda toxic how much emphasize there is on being the most popular and the best (better than others) in everything. The part I don't agree with is 'more work, less chillin'. Americans seem to live to work, while Dutch people work to live. Free time is very important. Education in stem is a CONTINUOUS ongoing endeavor! The economy never kept me from getting a job, never ever been homeless, always had a car! Well, my local high school cut art and music for football then the school board backs down on a no smart phones in class policy because parents said the "poor dears" need their phones in case mommy or daddy or their friends wants to contract them. "I never thought that I would agree with Ramaswamy on anything." Why is that?
@doreenplatt387315 сағат бұрын
@@geneclarke2205 I am not remotely a fan of DOGE (and most certainly not of Musk, and normally not of Ramaswamy either), but in this one instance, I do agree with the latter. It is sadly true that in many parts of our country, those who work hard and do well in school are looked down upon by their classmates. While having balance in life is important, we have tilted far too much towards the "relax and have a good time" view of life and away from the "work hard and take pride in your accomplishments" ethos we used to have. I don't think either extreme is healthy. We need to find a middle ground. We also need to celebrate those who pursue careers in the STEM fields as they are the ones who will help the United States be competitive with the rest of the world. Until that day comes, I would far rather American companies hire those with the necessary expertise (no matter where they were born) than have them work for China, North Korea, Russia, etc.
