Thanks for the vid. Just bought my cummins today, I had an LLY sierra and swapped the CP3 pump before it was sold and let me tell you it was very tough work. I wondered how it gave out and you schooled me on how to prolong the life of the cummins CP4. Thanks a million! Subbed

@chrismellem32104 жыл бұрын
Brent the fleece lift pump supplies better pressure to the cp3 than the factory lift pump which will keep it happier even if you are keeping it stock, I went with the titan fuel tank because s&b didn't have one for my 2017 ram 3500 crewcab with 8 foot bed

This setup is nice. I see the fass more convient like if the pump break you don't have to drop the tank. Filter change or empty the water you don't have to go under the truck and in winter who would want that 🤙

If CAT is going to put these filters on a 2 to 3 hundred thousand dollar piece of equipment. Then they are going to be good for your truck.

I just don't have the time these days w/working full-time, spending time w/ my family, creating content, editing content and uploading it to KZbin. That's why I have great friends to help out, plus they're professionals who do this for living. I'll still do some stuff myself, but then my day is shot & there's no time to do all of the other things I mentioned above.

@CornFed_33 жыл бұрын
Good video but the rear fuel “upgrade” isn’t very relevant. Sure, they’re easier to change and cheaper but it’s not worth losing a warranty over, in my opinion.
@n_rip83444 жыл бұрын
Interesting you went that route. Fass supports higher horse power, way more fuel flow than that fleece. Plus a lifetime warranty with better filtration. And options to run cat filters as well. All that money you spent you could have gotten something way better like FASS 165-220
@BEASTProjects4 жыл бұрын
Nah, I’m only looking to make up to 800HP. This is clean or more than capable of doing the job.
@n_rip83444 жыл бұрын
@@BEASTProjects Id def check your voltage reading on that pump when you get up to 600+ HP make sure it’s not dropping to low when you start pushing bigger number. (Unless it’s hardwired to the battery).
@monsterram66174 жыл бұрын
A couple of things Claiming the Fass supports higher hp is a bit misleading when considering the context of Steve's application. The Fleece unit is capable of supporting 800whp, which is about what any 165gph lift pump supports. Do both Fass and AirDog make lift pumps that flow more? Yes, but Steve doesn't need more fuel flow. The CP3/4 only needs about 17psi to feed the rail. Having more fuel flow is pointless if the CP3/4 can't use it. Dude doesn't need a 220gph lift pump if he's only wants to make 800whp or less! The statement that Fass offers better filtration is simply false. Fass rates their filters at 3 microns, while both Fleetguard (OEM) and CAT filter down to 2 microns. Furthermore, the Fleece unit is simply an in-tank pump that relies on factory/preexisting filtration; it doesn't filter anything. Fleece offers a lifetime warranty on their PowerFlo pumps, just like Fass. Really all three aftermarket lift pumps that are in the 800whp range are all about the same price, and offer about the same level of filtration with comparable warranties. The question comes down to if you want to retain factory placement or consolidate the filters into one external location, and you could have good reasons for either. But, and here's the kicker, if you are going to even 700whp I got some news for you... your money concerns aren't in what you spent on your lift pump. It's going to be how much money ($XX,XXX) you're spending on your transmission to hold that power.

Given that you're in PA, did you consider adding BMP's spin on fuel heater? It sandwiches between the filter base and the filter. Or does the 5th Gen not have a stock heater back there like the previous gen? 🤷♂️

I'd rather have the pump on the outside because of easy access for problems. And put the bottom sump on the tank. You can still use CAT filters on both of the other brands. You have a problem with what you are using you have to drop the tank and what if the tank is full 🤔 Fleece is awesome but not in this case. In My Opinion !

Ram and Cummins are already back to the cp3. The cp4 is a joke from a general reliability standpoint. Honestly the cp3 swap should be the first thing done.

Just cut all of the filters open and you will find out that CAT is clearly the best. Look at the Big Rigs and see what they run that should tell you everything you need to know. They are extreme duty trucks. Don't have time for breakdowns.
