The first Rambo movie came out at the same time as Rocky III, 1982. Rambo II came out at the same time as Rocky IV, 1985. It's amazing that Stallone was able to film these movies at pretty much the same time and then release them within a couple months of each other.

in both cases the Rocky movie came out 6 months apart from the Rambo movie. Stallone was actually writing Rocky IV on the set of Rambo 2

The first one was an action movie also all the way through people get confused about that because of the ending they think it's all about the trauma of war which a big part of it is but there's lots of shootouts and traps and destruction in the first film just as much as the sequels I had to watch the sequels again and i love 2,3&4 5 not so much the first has just as much action!

These movies were so huge in the 80s. "Rambo" knives were sold everywhere, even to kids! They were generally cheap garbage, which I learned when a friend threw mine into a tree trunk and the blade snapped in half.

I think the whole Rambo series is amazing. It dips slightly in quality with "Rambo 3" and "Last Blood" (still stellar entertainment, though), but "First Blood", "Rambo 2" and "Rambo" (aka Rambo 4) are exceptional. The latter is so raw and realistically brutal, it deserves special regonition. I don't know of any other movie that shows genocide and the damage that weapons do to such an extent and with all stops pulled. I would love to see you guys react to all of them.

Rambo III goes a little 'superheo-ish,, but is still good. Part 4 (Rambo or John Rambo depending on where you live) makes 1,2 and 3 look like Sesame Street.... SO gory and violent. Part 5 Rambo: Last Blood is kinda of a mix of 1 and 4 - a little more personal and hand to hand combat like 1. I love them all.

In video games “Going Rambo” is defined as running in guns blazing with little to no cover. But it should also refer at times to using stealth in an aggressive and offensive way. As in traps, stealth kills and fear tactics. The games that are as close as you can get to being Rambo are the rebooted Tomb Raider games (especially the 3rd one Shadow Of The Tomb Raider) and Far Cry 6. There is even a side mission where you help out the biggest Rambo fan ever and it ends with you getting the bow and explosive tipped arrow kit used in THIS MOVIE, you even kill bad guys while shouting quotes from the movies. Also I love the message James Cameron conveyed in this movie that we need to treat our veterans with far more love, respect than we give them. Cameron’s own brother is a veteran. Sadly to this day too many governments and militaries (including and especially our own) don’t give their veterans the care the need and deserve. They prop them up as heroes and then when their usefulness has ended they are cast aside and treated with indifference.

1. Best of the bunch. 2. The Soviet Commander/Steven Burkoff also played the heavy in "Beverly Hills Cop". 3. There's a must watch/share with Sly and Kurt Russell called "Tango and Cash" where a cop says to Tango and says, "He thinks he's Rambo." Tango/Stallone says, "Rambo, is a pussy"🤣 4. Charles Napier/Murdock also played Lt. Boyle in "Silence of the Lambs" 5. Julia Nickson/Co could get it. 😍🥰😋 She tries too hard on that accent though.🙄 6. I'd be pissed too if I were being set up for failure. 🤬

Word is Stallone made lots of changes to Cameron's script so Cameron repurposed his version into Aliens! Ripley is the veteran going back to face the horrors of her past war. I always watch both movies like they were two sides of a coin. Both are great and both deal with their traumas in a similar manner.

Rambo 2 has actually gotten so much much silly criticism ever since it came out from critics & people that just don't get what it's supposed to be. It's been called mindless & stupid & silly & over-the-top etc etc. But for anyone that gets it & takes it for what it is realize that this is anything but silly or stupid & certainly not mindless. And you guys totally understood this film & enjoyed it. The film has also been criticized for being nothing for women to enjoy. Golly, they are SO wrong! As a woman myself I literary grew up with the Rambo films & the second more than anything. What is it in this film NOT for women to love? Not only was Stallone as sexy handsome as he ever was in this film but a real mans-man still with morals. And women do love action just as any guy. What's not to like here? And seeing all these reactions online, especially from women, that LOVE this film & gets the character feels so satisfactory. Those that don't get this film, especially for all the wrong reasons, they are denying themselves something really cool & fun. This was 80-ees action at its top might. And it still holds up today! I much rather re-watch Rambo 2 than seeing something lame from today's standards with less story & just explosions.

20:42 - The scene where Rambo uses an "M72 LAW - Light Anti-Tank Weapon" shoulder mounted rocket to destroy Col.Podovsky's Hind Helicopter was cool, but realistically the back blast would've killed all the POWs in the Huey Helicopters Cabin. 😅 But this is a film, so let's just suspend reality 👍

In terms of budget I think Rambo 3 beats this movie, the action scenes are much more spectacular and bigger, all filmed with real elements, no CGI. And I advance that Rambo 4, is the most violent, gore and bloody movie of the saga, Stallone in a way wanted to replicate what was seen in Saving Private Ryan, but I think he even exaggerated too much, because the scenes of Rambo 4 are very brutal and graphic, surpassing Ryan I would dare to say, it is a butchery.

The sad truth, we left a lot of vets there, and most of all are dead by now, and we could have got them. There's actually a better movie than this, same situation called, Uncommon Valor!! John McCain was a pow but spilled his guts and ratted on units. He comes back here, a so called war hero, marries into money and power, becomes a senator. He could have got pows released many times but didnt. He knew they would come back here, and rat him out. So he left them there, to jeep his money power and Senate seat! John Wayne also did an excellent Vietnam movie, while having a lung removed for cancer, the Green Berets! I don't know when Terminator was being wrote or was out already, but Cameron helped him write this!😮😮😮 40 years of Rambo and Rocky. All the top stars of the day, passed on this role! And Stallone ends up writing and acting and directing most all of them! Not sure if Terminator was being written at the same time because Cameron is so prolific and would write 2-3 movies simultaneously, but Cameron helped Stallone write this!😮 And as we all know , Cameron does sequels like no other! Avatar, Aliens, Terminator 2. Russian mig choppers were badass in the day and still are! Noted in Top Gun Maverick!
