Although the first SF1 wasn't a massive hit, for it's time there wasn't another fighting game like it, and in my opinion the game basically pioneered all modern fighting games. It introduced the 3 punches and 3 kicks of different strength and joystick inputs for special moves, so the fireball quarter circle forward, hurricane kick quarter circle back, and dragon punch motion were all there. The animation frames were accurate to actual martial arts movements, and I'll never forget the first time I fired off a fireball and heard "hadoken", I was hooked and played SF1 every chance I got until SF2 came out.

The original Mortal Kombat game was largely based on Van Damme's character from this movie. Before they decided on Mortal Kombat as their game's title, Van Damme was one name among a few others that was floated around but that all depended on the developers being able to reach a deal with Van Damme himself to be the face of the game. In the end they couldn't reach a deal so they turned Van Damme's character into who we all know now as Johnny Cage.

Do we get to see JCVD’s butt again? Because Kristen was bummed when she missed out on the epic butt shot in this movie so I want to give her the chance to appreciate JCVD in all his glory 😂

A lot of his butt is shown in Kickboxer A lot more than in Bloodsport. Lol. 👍 @@Achara

@@Achara yea I hope you and Kristen do react to Kickboxer. Definitely a lot of butt shots, and Lionheart as well, has straight up nude butt shot. But I would love to see the both of you react to both! You ladies won’t regret it. 😊

Good VanDamme films: Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Lionheart, Univeral Soldier, Death Warrant. It's sad that he wasn't able to make the transition into action stardom like Arnold did..who's acting was decidedly worse.

I love how universally we all begin screaming at the tv for Jackson to stop his trash talking and continue the fight 😂

I hope you guys watch Kickboxer next. Also watch the Undisputed movies.

I remember seeing this in the theater at 12 years old with a bunch of friends. The whole audience started screaming at Jackson (Ogre) to keep going, don't stop! 😂

Because of The Boondocks every time I hear the word Kumite I hear Bruce Lee scream sound effects.🤣

"meditate my friend..." "Yeah. Breathe." I love it! My words exactly! Him being stretched to the limit was uber intense and then him overcoming it was amazing

It wasnt real. The writer made it all up and sold it as a true life story

Hey ladies, nice reaction. This is my favorite Van Damme film. Kumite! Kumite! Kumite! Good soundtrack as well. Jean kicked so much butt. If you would like some others, I suggest Kickboxer, Lionheart, Double Impact, Hard Target, Universal Soldier, and Sudden Death to name a few. Hope you continue down his filmography. His most ridiculous yet cool role was playing Colonel Guile in Street Fighter (1994).

I remember going to see this movie when it came out with some friends from high school. It is and will remain Jean Claude Vandamme's best film. 🏆. I still listen to the very beautiful music from the film today🧘. Thank you very much for this beautiful moment of memory 👍💐 Finally, I would like to highlight the great beauty of the woman who accompanies you in this video. 💐

That's "Karate Champ" and it was 1988- SFII was 2 years away. That was a massively successful game worldwide - compared to today, it would be on the level of Far Cry or Call of Duty. It's still great to this day. It swallowed oceans of credits the world over! 😀
