Although the first SF1 wasn't a massive hit, for it's time there wasn't another fighting game like it, and in my opinion the game basically pioneered all modern fighting games. It introduced the 3 punches and 3 kicks of different strength and joystick inputs for special moves, so the fireball quarter circle forward, hurricane kick quarter circle back, and dragon punch motion were all there. The animation frames were accurate to actual martial arts movements, and I'll never forget the first time I fired off a fireball and heard "hadoken", I was hooked and played SF1 every chance I got until SF2 came out.

The original Mortal Kombat game was largely based on Van Damme's character from this movie. Before they decided on Mortal Kombat as their game's title, Van Damme was one name among a few others that was floated around but that all depended on the developers being able to reach a deal with Van Damme himself to be the face of the game. In the end they couldn't reach a deal so they turned Van Damme's character into who we all know now as Johnny Cage.

@@Achara yea I hope you and Kristen do react to Kickboxer. Definitely a lot of butt shots, and Lionheart as well, has straight up nude butt shot. But I would love to see the both of you react to both! You ladies won’t regret it. 😊

Check out Kickboxer, Lionheart and The Quest next. Both are good JCVD tournament fighting movies similar to Bloodsport.

Wanna watch a underground classic martial arts movie with Jean-Claude Van Damme (His first movie) .. Watch "No Retreat No Surrender" (1985) it's a very good movie! I will say.. it honors Bruce Lee in a way.. such a fun movie! Plz react. Synopsis: Jason, a Bruce Lee fan, sees his karate instructor/dad beaten by martial art thugs. They move to Seattle where, after humiliations, he trains with Bruce Lee's ghost so he can defend himself and others against thugs.

"meditate my friend..." "Yeah. Breathe." I love it! My words exactly! Him being stretched to the limit was uber intense and then him overcoming it was amazing

Good VanDamme films: Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Lionheart, Univeral Soldier, Death Warrant. It's sad that he wasn't able to make the transition into action stardom like Arnold did..who's acting was decidedly worse.

This was one of my childhood favorites. I grew up on the early Van Damme movies. I never grow tired of Bloodsport. I watch it whenever I get the chance. Oh and at 24:04 one of the best "Oh my" moments I've ever seen! 😂😂😂 I laughed so hard.

One of my favourite films ever. BUT, every fact about Frank Dux's fight record is fake. Frank Dux is one of the biggest frauds in martial arts history. But the film is awesome!
