Hi sister I'm being following your 🍳 cooking. Interesting and very clear. I try making *tong yuen* using Ramie Leaves with gula melaka syrup. I bless a few friends they said was very nice n tasty. I do have this plants in my small garden.
Auntie Liew, thanks so much for this video. This is my fav kueh. By the way, if I cannot get the leaves, can I use black glutinous rice flour for the color of the skin? Will it affect the taste of the kueh? Thanks 🙏
I love these Hakka treats. I ate them when I was kids and they are not easy to find anymore.

Aunty Liew, you're given the talent to cook all types of kuih. I've been looking for this recipe for a long time. I love Ramie leaf dumpling but I couldn't buy the leaves. Can I use the same dough recipes for the plain dumpling with the sengkuang fillings? Please share the plain sengkuang recipes if the recipe is not the same. Thank you Aunty Liew, looking forward for your recipe soon.

Auntie, if we don't have ramie leaf what do we use
Auntie, can this kueh be made using another type of leaf called mugwort or nyoi in Hakka, ngai in Cantonese (艾草 in Mandarin). I thought the Hakka black kueh is made with nyoi. Or maybe that is a different kueh. Is there a Hakka kueh called nyoi ban (just wondering)? Yes, I am Hakka too. On further checking, I found that 艾草 kueh usually use peanut and sasame seed fillings. I guess it's up to individual preference and maybe 粗叶 or 艾草 is also interchangeable. Auntie, what is your opinion?

You can't get the green colour from the mugwort i guess.
@suechewyap20203 жыл бұрын
@@mlee7635 some use juice extract (lighter green) or ground-up leaves (darker just like ramie) to make "qin tuan" kueh.

Sue Chew Yap ,I did plant some mugwort in the flower pot, I like to fry with ginger and egg to make soup.
