As a German I am astonished how perfectly you picked up on the meaning as well as your translation. They described their indifference to everything once they've reached their pinnacle of popularity, sales. They were sated of everything, had achieved everything... And suddenly found themselves at the mountain top, with nothing more to achieve, nowhere to go. They felt they had done everything they had set out to achieve at some point in their past. Suddenly the passion had gone out their lives. This feeling of emptiness, coldness, darkness, that nothing really gives them happiness anymore. That even the bodily pleasures of food, drinks, drugs, sex... Everytime they used it for short term pleasure, instead of finding happiness, they took another step down into degeneracy. So they portrayed themselves as these massively obese, world weary men, who wanted to reunite once more, trying to relive the passion of the old times, hoping to find that lost spark. What they did find that they weren't able to keep up with their former selves, and almost had a seizure or heart attack when attempting to relive the old glory days. That's my take on the interpretation of this song. So I believe we are very similar in what we get from the potential message of the song.

When I was in depression I've found this song click in an unexpected way. Looked at the lyrics and one day thought "funny, that's exactly how I feel like". Later on I was diagnosed with depresssion and treated it, so I can say that I've kept and fixed my life partially because of this song

This is my favorite song by them. Musicaly is a blast and the lyrics portrait a lifestyle of apathy which is becoming a problem in modern society. Video is also great as always by them. The ending is brilliant since the keybordist stands up from the wheelchair but nobody notices. They return to their seperate, dull, safe, luxury lifes. So kalt....

For one, your german isn't as bad as you claim, you were quite on point. Next , translating a Rammstein song is always tricky, because they use figures of speech, that don't translate very well, especially not if you slightly modify or twist them. My point of view on this is: When you hear a song and it does something to you, your mind, your thoughts or your emotion, that part is yours alone and the next person might experience something entirely different, which is theirs as well. The entire point of reaction videos is, that it gives you something extra, an alternative perspective or new insight and that is precisely why Rammstein are perfect for this specific genre, because there is always something new to find in their art.

The latter played all the Instruments for the Band until 2020. The Band officially existed since January 2015. Yeah Rammstein is more of an introspective band than you would think as for those who can't catch German when they start to pervue their catalog , but watch a bit and you can catch on quick , as for their introspection of things or those that know i remember when they got like arrested in Yekatinburg and escorted out of the country two weeks before 2/24/2022 maybe they were afraid they were going to perform something ?! , first sign that something really was up , freedom was gonna be gone , . As for their "Amerika" we here in America really like it even though it makes fun of us and some of the things conveyed does need to be taken seriously , but yeah we dance a few steps Living in America , Living in America and laugh a big grin usaully with beer and BBQ at weekends or July 4th yeah us Americans can have a sense of humor and mad crazy pride too but with a sense of humor and gratitude that we still here and maybe a bit above halfway right sometimes for us regular folks the people
