This song is all about German wordplay! LOS has so many meanings, from "Go" to "-less", "start" and t the end when Till sings "Wir waren los", it means "we were unleashed."

Here is some of what I know about the meaning of the word "Los" When used by itself it means “go” for ex. "Los, Los,Los" would translate to " Go, Go,Go" another ex. Is "Los geht's" which translates to "let's go". It is also a negative suffix which when added at the end of a word means "less" ex. sprachlos - speechless, hilflos - helpless, zeitlos - timeless... It can also be used to indicate something is going on’ ex. “Was ist hier los?” “What’s going on here?”

They always play with words. “Los” means “go” or “start”, unless it’s added to another word at which it becomes “-less”. They do this a lot.

I just want to say in the end when he's saying "Los... Los.. Los" repeatedly and the translation shown is "Less.. Less.. Less" well this is just my personal opinion....yes the translation is correct and no the translation isn't correct yes Los can mean Less but only when used at the end of certain words but when said, read or written alone means go...so IMO at the end "Los" should have been translated to "Go" ❤️

What a great song to jam to. Love the song. The translation isn't always on point, because "los" is used depending on if it used as noun itself which means as much as "let's go" or if used as suffix, than it means as much as "less". Because of that difficulty or difference to translate it into english, I think the translation still serves its purpose, because you got the message. Artist should be able to do their art as they wish. It's about he difficulties they faced when they started and continued to make music. Some people just don't wanna be confronted with the ugly parts of humanity. And that's ok. They never encouraged anybody to do anything bad. They only point out the diversity of human behavior. Because of Till's 60th Birthday today, the media reported about it and the comments on german social media partly were horrendous. The cancel culture scene had a go on him, which luckily isn't successful here. If you don't like something, don't watch or listen to it. It's as simple as that. Sorry, if I might gotten off track. This was a welcome variation. Wir waren los! does not mean that "We were "less", but rather that "We were let go." As a suffix it means "less," but as a stand-alone word it means "go!"

after the german unification rammstein didn`t exist yet. they have been on the market since 1994 and have been controversial in east and west, not because of their origin but because of their misical style. this controversy persists to this days. is true, flake still misses his comfortable life in old east berlin but has no great difficulties with his present material comforts. btw: thanks for showing this nice musical act.

@@susanhoffman4835 as a born west berliner i was the happiest person on earth when my country was united and had hope for world peace and great gratitude for the support of the usa and its presence in berlin (at airlift in 1948/49 i was a boy of 7 years and i still remember the american food send from usa) which i never forget even if trump was a disappointment for europe but could not diminish my gratitut to the peoples of usa. the ukraine war also hit germany hard and revived memories of the former cold war, especially in berlin where we offer more than 100.000 refugees a temporary home. best wishes to you both. They weren't accepted in the beginning because Till uses an exaggerated speech that is called Stage-German. This was used to make unamplified speech on stage more easily understandable. Unfortunately another very well known but extremely infamous person used that same speech pattern during his speeches. You know, the mustache idiot. He made this type of speech become very unpopular, with good reason. So many people who just heard the speech pattern associated that with those Nutsis (you know, it's weird I can't use the real name without getting censored on a US platform). That's why after all the controversy about them they made the song "Links 2 3 4".

Not true! When Rammstein started the two Germanys were already reunited. They are speaking in general about the critics’ perception of their music. Especially in America, where they were arrested at least twice for indecent behaviour. And the song Ich tu dir weh was censored in Germany, the united country in 2009. Germany reunited in 1990. Of course they grew up in Eastern Germany and their music is strongly affected by that.

👍 One of my many best Songs by Rammstein! Also very worth listening to is the Song "Dalai Lama" from the same Album! Also an incredibly great Song! PS: No, they were censored in United Germany!!! (Rammstein didn't exist in the GDR!)
