5:10 this song isnt about nightmares at all, but more like about a "one-night-story" of an dark albe (germanic mythology). These creatures were accused to come in the night, to cause nightmares or drink ur blood/tears. Especially in the piano version u can hear how his voice becomes more stressed with every single note, cause he knows that his time (the night) runs away. While the dark albes arent that known nowadays, u have heared of the light alpes or how they are called in modern fantasy (f.e. lord of the rings) "elfs"

The template for the Rammstein song goes back to a popular children's program on German television that has been broadcast since the 1960s. The Little Sandman is a popular fairytale character who comes to the children every evening and puts sand in their eyes to make them tired. The Little Sandman on television each night tells the children a different bedtime story every time, but it is always announced with the same words. (Nun liebe Kinder gebt fein Acht, ich hab' euch etwas mitgebracht / Now, dear children, pay attention, because I have brought you something). I ear Rammstein for more than 20 years. I’m very, very happy because I could see them 3 times live. I saw them hundreds of times on KZbin. I need to say you one important thing: never try to understand definitively their lyrics.... There are not definitive explanations. Everything in their lyrics have 2, 3, 4… interpretations! You can always have new interpretations of what you are earing from them... It's an advice of any Rammstein expert.

You really can't go wrong with Rammstein. All of the videos are amazing. However, as an example, 'Feuer Und Wasser" has no video. The music alone makes me cry so hard that I die every time that guitar hits. You will have your own individual experience.

English subtitles are not as great as german lyrics. Till sings "Gebt fein Acht" ("pay close attention") but this term is usually only use in old German fairytales and in Sandmann, a figure for child TV program before sleeping And old German fairytales from Grimm brothers are really scary! 😅
