Back to the first time when it is in 1. person: It says that she is praying to the star thus it is in direct speech. She is saying cast a warm light onto my face. Since Gesicht comes from Sicht("sight"), it basically means "that, what is seen", which is, yeah, the face. Ungesicht, thus, means "face, that isn't seen".

There are two person - man and his girl. First part it's explanation, that girl "ugly than it gets dark when she looks into the sky". And she asks morning star "Tell me i'm not alone, make me beautifull". Second part about man, which talk about his girl. He ask the same things about her "Tell me she is not alone, make her beautifull". But finally he start to watch not to her face, but to your soul. And "to see with the heart that she is beautifull"

Bipolar is when people have extreme ups and downs. Multiple personalities is called dissociative identity disorder. I think you had it close with the outcast. The lyrical "I" is singing about the other person, occasionally singing about what she is wishing, but then singing again from their own perspective that when he sees her with his own heart/soul then she's beautiful

I think this is about a person with low self esteem/self hate and the pressure that if you don't look a certain way your considered "ugly" or "plain" when he sings "Humans are just creatures of the eye Beautiful things are what I want But you, you aren't beautiful...." That shows how we tend to see certain things and other people as more beautiful. I think this is such a beautiful song because in the end he realizes how beautiful she is.. because in the end when he sings "It warms my breast and shakes where life beats To see with the heart she is simply beautiful" The morning star instead of shining on her, it shines on him where it warms up his heart and feelings so before he only saw her with his eyes but now he sees her with his heart and soul and realizes that she is simply beautiful 😍❤️

I could write so much about this, it cuts so deep. It's funny I came across your video today, it is so tied to me and my recovery. Morgenstern or morning star is Venus, goddess of love and beauty. This is taken from a poem Till wrote called Haßlich (ugly). He wrote it about himself. Written from a man's perspective about the woman he loves who is struggling with dysmorphia (Till also has struggled with dysmorphia, the poem was written about his acne scars). He narrates her pleading with Venus to bless her with beauty, all she hears is the voice in her head "you are ugly". He sees her struggles and prays for Venus to ease her suffering, the ugly voice continues. After the darkest place (the bridge) clarity comes. Finally, with thr voice of angels, she understands she *is* only beautiful, just how she is. I've struggled with my weight for all of my adult life. I've lost a lot of weight and people call me beautiful now but I will always be fat in my head. I will always see a monster in the mirror. Not because I am or probably ever was but because society has told me that is what I am. It's been a rough month and my jeans were a bit tight this morning. I reacted with disdain and called myself disgusting. My boyfriend wanted to comfort me but I wouldn't let him touch me. I know it hurts him that I treat the person he loves more than anything with so much hated and violence.

I appreciate your struggle with those poor english translations. All the complexity and poetry of the german language is lost, so sad 😔! You should really try to learn some german, it's worth it. That will bring Tills lyrics on another level! He is one of the greatest poets of our time in Germany. You got to know, German is the language of poets and thinkers!
