As far as I've taken from the lyrics of this song I think that it's about self doubt and not just looks. The first part about the woman looking towards the sky but are so ugly that the light shines away is how she sees herself and the end is about how her partner sees her from different eyes and wish that she could see how beautiful she is through his eyes. The ugly part isn't about her physical looks but her mental image of herself. At least that's how I looked at the song and I had a school project in highschool where we were tasked to analyze a song and make a poem in arts class. I chose this song and made a poem that were presented in the schools assembly hall. Later on I heard that a girl in my school accually said later on that it helped her to stop having destructive thoughts and in a way stopped her from thinking about ending her life. All this goes to a german rockband that many at that time thought were nazis. Till's writing skills are so beautiful that even my bad german to swedish translations and bad poem skills made something good. I love this band so much!

"Wärmt die Brust mir bebt, wo das Leben schlägt, mit dem Herzen sehen, sie ist wunderschön" "It warms my trembling chest Where life beats Seeing with the heart She is beautiful" My interpretation is that He is asking the morning star to make her beautiful and she also pleads for beauty...but not because she's ugly or deformed because it's dealing with body dysmorphia and/or what society views as being beautiful, ugly, plain, average etc. So the morning star instead of shining on her, it shines on him..where it warms up his heart his feelings and so before he only saw with his eyes but now he sees with his heart and soul and realizes that she is beautiful 😍❤️

Here, it seems, Morgenstern was so beautiful on the inside that the true "ugly" people are intimidated and act out by focusing on her outer looks. In the end, she is so internally beautiful that 1) No matter her outside appearance, she is beautiful 2) Her inner beauty actually physically transforms her outward appearance to "match" her inner beauty. I like the first option better.

Thanks for the reaction! I personally see it almost like a fairytale- a girl cursed with a horrifying appearance, the main character and her aiming to change her outside features to have a happy ending... but ultimately, the morning Star helps in an unforeseen way, as the problem was never her but society/ the main character, and helping him see her in light she deserves to be seen under ultimately gives the happy ending they wanted :)

Nice reaction as usual. The song has allegories to the poem "Das Abendlied" by Matthew Claudius in structure of the verse rhythm and some lyric lines. Franz Schubert composed a song to the poem. If you listen to both songs you will find them quite similar. Of course the selection of instruments makes a big difference in heaviness. We sing the song (das Abendlied) to our children as lullaby. With love from Germany 🤘 😎

Even as a german I misunderstand a lot of their lyrics. When he says "Morgenstern" I dont understand "morning star" more I think of the weapon and when he says "ach scheine (oh shine)" I understand "erscheine" what means appear

He does pause a lot to analyze lyrics, but he’s the only reactor I can listen to do this song after song particularly with Rammstein. He’s very sincere and likable. I watch his videos often.
