Little correction on the translation (I know, I am THAT guy :D) the mother didn´t broke the fathers hearth in two, HER hearth broke in two. Its: "Der Mutter brach´s entzwei" (the mothers broke in two). The mother broke it in two would be "Die Mutter brach´s entzwei).

I agree, it's one of those dark songs. It reminds me a bit of "Mutter". Thanks for sharing, I've never heard this one before.

Interesting. Totally respect your interpretation and the way you felt the mood of the song. In my case, totally opposite, I felt nothing dark. For the way he starts singing I felt a psycho kind of beauty all the way through, like someone who got tired of suffering (maybe?) and starts softly singing like he does... can't explain a lot cuz I really don't get entirely what the lyrics are about, plus I'm drunk. I'm mainly based on the tones he his singing. Some people say its about a mother and father not being able to have a child, which makes sense.

Thanks for this. I haven't listened to this one in years. I'm not sure of the meaning, but my guess is that they are trying to have a child but she is infertile, and the song is written from the point of view of the sperm or the kids that never got to be. I think they are maybe talking about miscarriage. Who knows!
