This song is about an Austrian man named Josef Fritlz who kept his daughter trapped for 24(!) years in a secret dungeon in the basement of his and his wifes house. He had several children with the daughter, some he kept in the dungeon, some he raised with his wife.

I feel that Till's screams in this song is relatable and oddly cleansing for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. I went through it as a tween. In one performance of this song, dolls were hanging by their necks. Creep factor 100%. I read a detailed article on the investigation into Fritzel and he actually killed a few of his grandchildren. His wife never knew.

Greetings from Germany...Chels, my dear...please don't think its twisted, to love Rammstein's Songs bout real things. Only ignorant and prejudices people think that way. Thats sad and wrong. Those Songs and Videos are not pervers or a glorification of violence. It's the truth. But more important is the fact that their Songs can help people. For real..the best example & proof is this true story. A girl, victim of a brutal rape, wrote an amazing letter and send it to Rammstein. In this letter She wrote that she could identify with the song “Weißes Fleisch” - that was also in the index for a short while. I spoke about rape while she couldn’t. She had grown up with the idea that she had to keep that period from her youth a secret, and couldn’t tell anyone. Through my song, she understood she could talk about it. She was so grateful I had written that song”¦ I still don’t understand what people get so excited about. This story is so incredeble and inspiring. And the fact that you both took the time to understand the background of their Songs shows me your great character. From Köln/Cologne Stefan

❤️ Ich liebe Rammstein 😍💕 Rammstein talked to the young lady to make sure she was ok with them releasing the song. IMO I don't agree with the MSG performance being better..yes it's cool and it's got some exploding dolls which of course tie in with the story but the performance in MSG was back in 2010. Notice how the performance has changed? (I believe they either got a call from the victim or maybe someone talking on behalf of the young lady that she didn't like the dolls or explosions? (That's what I think) In this performance there are no cameras scanning the audience, no crazy antics or goofing off, no pyro. Everyone is concentrated on the music, the song, the performance. Till Lindemann is an awesome singer and an excellent actor you can just feel the anger in his voice he literally while performing becomes the person he's singing about. I read where he said he likes to get inside the minds of these sick people and to understand them and why they did whatever they did so in essence he becomes that person. That is why he is so good at what he does..Till Lindemann - Rammstein are the total package excellent strong and beautiful vocals, great commanding presence, awesome stage design, lighting and pyro, the best guitar riffs and the most talented musicians in the world, They do things others have never done or even thought of doing. That is why They are true Living legend 🥰💕💯💯💯
